Bristol Election Debate - Venue Leaked - Mass Demo Mobilising Now

Mobilise Now | 16.04.2010 14:09

The Evening Post today handed us the information we've been waiting for with eager ears. A live TV debate between the three major political leaders (Brown, Cameron and Clegg) will take place at 4:00PM on the 22nd of April. The venue, which was announced today, is: The Mercure Hotel, Redcliffe Hill, Redcliffe, Bristol BS1 6SQ.

This Thursday 22nd April the leaders of the three most powerful parties in the country are coming to Bristol to speak behind closed doors at a secret location to a handpicked audience. The bickering session will then be broadcast on national television as a supposedly democratic event.

Various groups are mobilising to make their voices heard outside the locked doors. Whatever your general views on party politics and "western liberal democracy", you have been silently ushered out of processes that will impact heavily upon your life. Come down and insist upon being heard in whatever way you see as best.

Please network far and wide. Tell anyone who's interested. Redecorate your locale with posters and stickers. Stick this text or your own up on any websites that'll allow it. Hit up the facebook event (linked) and invite all your mates.

Here's the source naming The Mercure Hotel, Redcliffe Hill, Redcliffe, Bristol BS1 6SQ:

"Bristol has only to wait until 4pm on Thursday, April 22, for its own slice of history when the leaders descend on the city's Mercure Hotel in Redcliffe for the second debate."

Previous info had suggested the venue may be The Arnolfini in central bristol, previously used for Question Time. However its only a 10 min walk away...

Be good to hear from people in Manchester what time schedules were used for yesterday's live tv dabate ie is 4pm the leaders arrival time for make up/set up, or the actual recodring time? The Bristol event goes out on Sky tv from 8 to 9.30pm, so if the tv debate really is live its a lot of set up time (even if they use a 60 second delay in case of disruption).
