Proser at Cardiff Uni

Yesterday saw a picket of Cardiff University as the Israeli Ambassador arrived to give a key-note speech to the University debating society.
This is a man who has condoned the war crimes and genocide inflicted on the people of Gaza by the Israeli state. Frankly, he should have had to face more hostility than he actually got.
Still, with a Stw picket on one entrance, and a bunch of anarchos and greens at the other entrance, Proser at least had to confront protesters as he arrived (late!) for his speech. An Israeli flag which was tied provacatively to the railings by a supporter of Proser was taken down and burned at the University gates
Frustratingly (for us), but perhaps predictably, security prefered to take Proser through the larger picket at the student entrance, rather than to the more dignified visitors way-in where the anarchos were waiting. He is sometimes a hard man to get close to.
Policing was low key, despite a brief appearance by the police camera crew.
It's worth remembering that while Proser is wined and dined, dozens of people who took to the streets in protest at the bombing of Gaza are now in prison, serving long sentences, some for as long as two and half years. .
