Indymedia censorship too far?

Media Mogul | 31.03.2010 12:29 | Analysis | Culture | Indymedia | South Coast | World

I want to introduce a discussion about indymedia's worsening censorship, and the way they are becoming exactly what they profess to hate.

I have had many comments censored recently for seemingly no reason whatsoever. I believe that indymedia's censorship has gone too far and does no longer offer the forum to put forward whatever view you wish. Some views expressed by people on this site will be unpalatable, even offensive, but they must be allowed to have their voice as much as anyone else. I believe we should be able to talk about individuals on this website, and not limited to generalisations and watered down opinions.

I conceed that anything with sensitive information, for example home addresses and telephone numbers etc. need to be censored, but I believe only in extreme cases such as these that anything should be censored.

Please give your opinions on the censorship policies of indymedia.
