Protest at Bobbersmill Mosque

Protestors object to Imam's pro-imperialist war views.

Worshippers leaving Bobbersmill Mosque on Berridge Road West were leafletted urging them to oppose Imam Musarraf Hussein's support for the NATO war of terror being waged against the Afghani people. On Wednesday Hussein had welcomed British troops into the mosque. He falsely claimed that the majority of Muslims in Britain support the actions of the British Army in Afghanistan. In fact public opinion polls show that the majority of people in Britain, including British Muslims, are opposed to the war on Afghanistan and want British forces withdrawn. A lot of people in the Muslim community in Nottingham are outraged by Hussein's behaviour and want him to publicly recant on his inflammatory statement. Many of the worshippers attending prayers, some of them Afghanis, strongly disagreed with Hussein's pro-war views.
