Soldiers back from Afghanistan march in Newark

antiwarrior | 15.03.2010 15:55 | Anti-militarism | Terror War

what should we do, support or protest?

Tomorrow, tuesday 16th March, the Mercians - 2nd battalion (worcesters and foresters) will march through Newark at 10.30am.

I always get confused by this. Should we be happy they left Afghanistan and came back home or should we protest for the fact that people are supporting them so much, even the children are dismissed from school tomorrow so that they can attend the march and support their heroes! What a circus... another brainwash for recruiting more 18 years old to die for their government.
Any ideas or support?

Marching Troops

I have tried to get people to demonstrate against the war of terror that these "brave boys" are waging against the Afghani people when they marched in Nottingham, Long Eaton, Ilkeston and Beeston but nobody wants to do it.

I wonder why? Perhaps a bit too close to home?

& edl werent in Nottingham on the day the Mercians marched there would have been a demo in support of troops&geneva convention, but against the war, so stop moaning!

Some people just "seem" to want to stir things up without point sometimes, aiming at entire regiments instead of those eager to frag rag head like some sections of the SAS& the USmarines. Thats a debatable tactic, what really pisses people off in stop the war & anarchists as well as most people though is there is a annoying minority of 1who supports all the "Taliban" groups & say all the "warlord"groups are evil when its not that simple.
Prizes to anyone in Nottingham who can guess who that could be?
