Smash EDO Iraq commemoration

Smashy | 15.03.2010 12:01 | Smash EDO | Anti-militarism | Iraq | Palestine | South Coast

On the 19th March 2003 the first of thousands of people were killed as the U.S and U.K's 'coalition of the willing' launched its skock-and-awe campaign against the people of Iraq.

Millions of us marched against the war, thousands took direct action and some sabotaged the war machine but the warmongers marched on to Baghdad anyway. Seven years on companies like EDO/ITT who profited from the invasion of Iraq are still functioning and churning out their machinery of death.

This year Smash EDO are holding two demonstrations to commemorate the start of the occupation:

Wednesday 17th March 12 pm Barclays, North street, Brighton- Barclays have £7.2 billion invested in the global arms trade and provide market maker services for ITT/EDO. Join us for a picket and demonstration.

Wednesday 17th March 3pm at EDO, Home farm road Brighton, Horrors of war demo to show the workers what the end use of the products is. Bring pictures of the Iraq dead.

Later that night there is a fundraiser gig at Hectors House:

The Junk
Primeval Soup
Chukin
Clear as Mud
Perkie
Robin Lawley

£4 suggested donation 7pm start

See you there!!
