Masked English Defence League's petition to ban the burka.

The masked men of the English Defence League have launched a campaign and a 10 Downing Street petition to ban the burka on the grounds of women's rights. If people CHOOSE to wear a mask in the street as the EDL do this is their democratic right as it done by choice but burkas are different as the women are made to wear them said the hooded English Defence League men in London.

The EDL are not saying that people shouldn't be able to wear hoods, masks and hats if people want [like the EDL do] but just to ban the sharia law bit that says women have to wear a scarf style burka which is different.

The EDL have said on their website that they are not racist and that they are a serious political issue group [they have said on their website to their members not to sing the "Allah Allah Who the F**k is Allah " song and the "Allah is a Pedo" one on protests which shows they are making an effort] so this definately for the rights of women who they are not against and trying to help.

People will argue that EDL wear hats, masks and hoods when they go out but the burka is not the same as it different.
