Tesco Metro attacked in Bristol

@ | 09.03.2010 13:58

Tesco Metro attacked in Bristol consumerist centre.

In the beginning of hours of Tuesday morning, the Broadmead branch of Tesco in Bristol attacked. The multiple windows and the doors were crushed before those relative that escaped in the night. Even if these actions have been taken in the momemtum of the No Tesco in Stokes Croft campaign, we want to underline that our effort is not limited in such. Local, independent, organic or green capitalism would be equally worthy of attack, with the facades of company that are only one from a lot of objectives. Did these metres be taken in the solidarity with the squatted Jester's comedy club that, with their way, resists in the rise of corporate control. May your barricades stands powerful, but the rebel in you is bolder than any barred door. We remember also the companions that are jailed for the similar action after the last demonstration of Gaza. No repression will not deter us. Every little helps.

So this wasn't about any specific political issue then?
Your quite happy to destroy the home and work place of any independent family grosser or producer as well?
It's just any kind of trade that you are against, you just want to consume the fruits of other peoples labour without giving anything in return?
Is that the message?

It should be considered that giants like Tesco can withstand a few broken windows, where as it could quite easily put the independent family shop out of business, which would be especially good for the like of Tesco. With no other grosser in the neighborhood their would be little opposition to a incomers planning application. And we will all end up stacking shelves for the capitalist giants.

More likely this was just about smashing windows for fun!

well done! you're ranting incitement may well have got BIM shut down. If it comes up again have a think about not pissing on your doorstep and at least putting your language in a way which won't get the police busting down the doors of IMCVOLS!

If you keep on the way you're going, bim definitely will be shut down again!

But instead of gathering a few braincells together, this will just prove to your poorly wired brain, that throwing bricks, and blighting everything you touch, just proves you right!

MORONS!

According to comments here:

...which may or may not be correct, BIMC is offline because someone forgot to pay the bills.

So don't jump to blaming conclusions so easily FFS!

Now, don't get me erong, I'm not the biggest fan of smashing things up tactically speaking, but i'm far from against it.
One of the historical reasons that anarchism has attracted flak is that it has been seen to be supporters of petty bourgouis capitalism. This bloke who works from home and is so fucking proud of it he keeps trying to get the rest of us to do the same (and has used this site to make workers feel guilty for being working class - was it 'tyrants' you called us?) is a prime example of that tendency.
Last time I spoke to him, I was nice and calm, laying out the reasons why working from home actually made him/her part of the problem, or at least not the saint he/she purports to be. Now i'm bored of it - take your middle class, pro buisness rubbish, and start posting it on hugh fearnley-wanker's website where someone might give a toss.
While I would question someone smashing a small family run place WHILE there are tescos left unsmashed - the principle is correct that they all represesnt the same oppresive and corrupt economic system

Fair play to the people who trashed tesco, and all people who stand up to corporate rule (wether I totally agree with your tactics or not). It takes guts, and your hearts are in the right place - keep it up!

Now don't forget, say what you mean!

This is Tesco we are talking about. This is a Jewish owned Zionist Corporation that assists the savagery of the Israeli Apartheid state in its long-winded seizure of land in the Occupied territories.

Whats market placement, the people, being middle class and vandalism got to do with it?

I'll say this for the umpteenth time...STOP DEFENDING WAR CRIMINALS. Its isn't healthy and it isn't decent. In fact, it will make you go blind if you don't stop it!

"ill say this just the once but ill use capitals for effect just like you I SUPPORT ISRAEL AND ITS RIGHT TO EXIST "

I'm not saying that Israel doesn't have a right to exist, just that war-mongering apartheid states that kill people to seize in order to seize whatever they like do not have a right to exist in peace. And that large organisations and corporations that fund them do not have a right to continue trading without being charged and molested for their crimes.

If Israel were peaceful, this wouldn't be a problem. Would it?

But then again, if Israel were peaceful, YOU wouldn't be a problem!

iffy

they sell Israeli goods, and they sell stuff from the West Bank labelled as such - which might not be what we want, but does not make them a "Jewish owned Zionist Corporation", and even if they were Jewish owned, to state that as you did is irrelevant and therefore suspect/anti-Semitic (now I'm not saying talking about Israel being an apartheid state, or encouraging boycotts, or blockades, is in itself in any way anti-Semitic....before you get on your high horse, just Doug's post).

What are you talking about? Tesco dont even have any supermarkets in Israel.

 http://www.tescopoly.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=595&Itemid=193

The only thing I can think of that connects the two is the ethnicity of the shops founder, a Mr. Jack Cohen, who doesn't even appear to have been a Zionist.

 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Cohen_%28Tesco%29

This Jew-hunting of yours is turning quite nasty. Are all sucessful Jewish-related businesses now automatically part of the Zionist Entity now?

One things for sure, if you're targetting Tesco because of its' founders ethnic roots, I'm going to do as much shopping there as possible from now on.

Point one, we do not 'target' Tesco because of its 'ethnic roots'. We leave that to the Israeli state. That is why it is there, that is what it does. Tesco trades with Israel and therefore funds it. No, not all Jewish entities are bad, there are a number of companies that trade normally, but Tesco does not.

Point two, you apologise for everything Israel does and you shop at Tesco because thats what you do anyway. You are here to prop up what you are supposedly criticising, thats what you do, thats why you are here.

I detect nothing at all in your comments that makes me think you have any socialist credentials AT ALL.

You are trolls that are here because you have a job to do. If this is voluntary then more fool you...I would at least expect you to get paid for it!

Tesco trades with Carmel Agrexco which has been covered at very great length here at IM.

You WILL NOT turn this into nastyness against the Jewish race. Only a true Zionist would do that!

what links?

10.03.2010 22:32

What links do Tescos have to the Israeli state then?

oh I see

10.03.2010 22:38

Oh I see - they get some of their oranges from there, along with every other supermarket in the land, such as Asda for instance.

It just so happens that you guys only seem to target shops with Jewish connections - Tesco, Marks and Sparks and Starbucks.

Will you be targetting the Asda, Sainsbury's etc? Course not because they were not started by Jews and are not run by Jews. Someone is pushing 1930s style antisemitism again because it is easier than criticising the capitalist system. Christ, it'll be "zionist plutocrats" next.

Look just face it pal, you cant get an argunment going about anti-semitism. I know you get by on this and I know you love nothing more than helping to protect the Israeli state by painting its attackers as anti-semitic because you know this works for you.

But it doesn't work anymore does it. Thanks to the fundamentalist lunatics in Israel that you are supporting we now know that fascism and savagery is alive and well in Israel. There is an old English saying isn't there.

"Hate nothing, for you will always become what you despise the most"

The question is, what do you despise the most.......fascist nationalists by any chance?

We are not anti-semitic, we are peace keepers, nothing more, nothing less.
