Manolis Glezos Sent to the Hospital by the Greek Riot Squad

Manolis Glezos was sprayed by a unit of the greek riot squad earlier today. A recent athens.indymedia report claims he's currently hospitalized in the intensive care.

88-year old Manolis Glezos, one of the two people who removed the german Nazi flag from Acropolis on 31 May 1941, the person who declared last year that it is the traitors & not the freedom fighters who need full-face masks, was sprayed earlier today: with chemicals, full on the face, by a helmeted riot pig, during a workers' demo, & in front of the Monument of the Unknown Soldier. He was promptly removed from the area & carried to a hospital by his comrades, after he passed out. More here.

P.S.: I know & I fully understand that there's a lot of confusion all around about what's going on in Greece, & whether it's worth of any support & what not. To be perfectly honest, & to the best of my understanding, the same is true inside the country as well. People realize that 'something has to give', & they (in fact, we) have no clue what that would be - same as everybody else, when it comes to being fast & pragmatic. The economic measures are not it, though, that's for sure. So, please keep in mind that most of those greek people are fighting because they fear these measures will finally turn the country into a third world country good & proper - entrenched interests are an issue, but not the whole story here.
