We occupied the management building, Sussex House, got most of the staff to leave and locked it down. It was pretty awesome!
A demo formed outside to show support. At one point (not shown in the footage) the demo tried to surge forward to join the occupation.
The police were generally very heavy handed. Sadly, Sussex doesn't have many (any?) students who would actively attack cops. The actions you see the Scum taking here were completely un-provoked.
Remember, this was us on our own university.

however, if you think these people might have done something to deserve it - the police don't. the videos do not show arrests, bit people were released within minutes. these are technically 'stop and searches' under PACE Section 1. even the police aren't alleging the people they attacked did anything wrong.
