Stop the redundancies. Stop the Cuts.

Demonstration in Birmingham on Tuesday the 23rd of February 2010, the day the full council sets the budget, which if they get away with it will likely mean more cuts and redundancies, and leaving Birmingham City Council in the hands of 'Capita' and its crooked cronies.
Birmingham Joint Trade Unions UNISON, UNITE, GMB, UCATT
Noisy Protest at the Birmingham Council House.
At the Council’s Budget Setting Meeting
No To Redundancies & Service Cuts
Tuesday 23 February 4-6pm
As the full council sit and vote on how to spend Birmingham's £3.2 billion budget we want to make sure that they are aware that we will not accept cuts to jobs and services.
Guest Speaker Dave Prentis UNISON Gen Sec
We have to make it clear to our elected Councilors that the people of Birmingham will not pay for a crisis we did not cause.
Bring your banners and placards, bring your whistles and drums, bring your friends and family and your pots and pans. Like the people of Argentina and Iceland lets build the loudest protest against threatened cuts in all Council services. The Council are closing homes for the elderly and people with disabilities, our nurseries and neighbourhood offices, leisure centres and libraries are threatened and park staff also face redundancy.
Make this demo big - who knows what may happen if it is big. Some daring people may even invade the council chamber and drag the leader of the Tory Liberal council - Councillor Rudge, out of the council house and throw him in the 'Floozie in the jacuzzi' which unfortunately hasn't got any water in it at the moment.
One can dream at least.
