Desensitizing the public to animal slaughter is dovetailed
with desensitizing people to human slaughter

Sony, Nora Ephron, Julie Powell Teach Children To Kill Animals

Sony, Eric Steel, Nora Ephron, Julie Powell, Scott Rosenberg of Salon, Amanda Hesser of the NY Times Teach Children
to Kill Animals
Nora Ephron, whose ex worked with Mark Felt,
Deep Throat of the FBI, Bob Woodward of a special
White House detachment of naval intelligence
officers, Henry Kissinger, the Meyer family's Post
and packdogs of American warmonger media
to frame Richard Nixon not for bombing Cambodia
but for wishing to remove the American air waves
from Israeli control, was the director of the tasteless
commercial for the American Egg Board, Red Lobster, the American Meat Institute etc. generously called 'film' It is Julie and Julia.
The producer of this film which teaches children
that it is good to inflict pain on helpless beings
is Eric Steel. Actors who joined in the brutal
lobster boiling scene are Amy Adams and Chris Messina.

They promote fur knifed from the cadavers
of animals, Bloomingdale's, copious booze,
pearls untimely ripped from oysters, smoking.

Despite worldwide campaigns against baby cow
eating (veal), lobster cruelty etc they aggressively
feature these items. There are 18 promotions
of factory farmed eggs, 12 of butter (product
made from mother's milk diverted from calves),
3 of cheese, 5 of suffocated fish, 1 of slaughtered
pigeon, 5 of heart attack cream, at least 5 frames
of lobster flesh, 1 of turkey, 4 of ducks (including
deboning), several scenes of decapitated chicken
corpses sewn up from stem to stern, 2 of cake,
1 of milk, 3 of Mad Cow gelatin or Jello, 2 of
pig flesh, 7 of cow flesh, 1 of yogurt, 1 of a calf's
foot (reminding one of vegan Mark Braunstein's "When
one eats cow's tongue who is tasting whom?"

from  http://www.kidsinmind.com

Quote:
We see an open market and animal parts are displayed, such as pig snouts, and an animal with fur (it's not clear what it is). A woman drops three live lobsters into a pot of boiling water (she is uncomfortable about the act), one pushes the lid off the pot, and the woman screams and runs out of the kitchen (we hear screeching from the pot). (Poster's note: then her partner comes into the
room.. and puts a lobster who escaped back into
the pot of boiling water and screws down the potlid.. for this man and woman act of barbarism
she calls him a saint) A woman cuts through a live lobster's shell with a loud crunch. Badly prepared poached eggs float in water. A woman uses a very sharp knife and bones a duck (we see the first cut down the back).

The audience is told that Julia Child recommends
killing a lobster by shoving a needle between his 2
eyes. This form of 'pithing' demonstrated in
unconscious biology classes has been banned
.. in most places.. but was still being done at Cornell University which
vivisects primates and other animals in Ithaca NY.

The US Smithsonian Institution's costly exhibit of Julia Child's kitchen
is akin to the British wax museum depiction of the molded
likenesses of serial killers. In the case of Child's kitchen
the victims were eaten.

The Smithsonian was involved in a scandal involving
trophy hunters from the Safari Club and other
international serial killers of rare animals... the institution
received an illegally murdered (some animals are legally
murdered) bighorn sheep from Russia.

Foyle's War Against Fishes

The excellent series Foyle's War with beautiful photography,
wonderful scripts, endearing characters and intricate plots could eliminate the
fishing suffocation promotions.

Fish Can't Scream

There are definitiely two sides to this

17.02.2010 19:41

And by that I do NOT mean two sides to the question of whether we should be eating animals in the first place.

The question HERE is whether or not it is better for people who eat meat to be able to ignore that their choice (to eat meat) mans that an animal must die. Or should they instead be forced to face that reality squarely.

You fear that seeing the process will desensitize people to killing animals? You don't think it might well be tyhe other way around, and being forced to see/understand what their desire for meat means they might not instead give up meat?

Depicting the norm

18.02.2010 10:16

The number of vegetarians in the UK has grown sharply in the last 15 years to represent an estimated 5.4% of the total population,

Thus for 94% of the UK population this is 'normal'.

So Nixon's the hero?

19.02.2010 12:22

What could have been a decent piece about animal rights is ruined from the start by the fact its author is clearly a conspiraloon of the highest order.

Nora Ephron (who wrote You've Got Mail and so on) is, it seems, part of an evil conspiracy because of her ex husband's role in bringing down Nixon. Forget All the Presidents Men. In this version, nice, innocent Nixon was set up by the Jewish-controlled media. Which ignores the tapes, the criminal evidence, and Nixon's own apology later. But hey - it's all a jewish conspiracy. Surprised that the author didn't bring up Annie Hall - jewish author AND lobster cruelty.

Waste of money

20.02.2010 13:29

Teaching all children to kill animals is a waste of school time and money.

The vast majority of us will have our animals killed and prepared for us by people paid to do it. All we need to know is the way to the supermarket or butchers shop.
