Take Action Against Marshall Farms Europe
A post on Indymedia last week revealled how Hull-based B&K Universal had been bought out by Marshall BioResources (Marshall Farms) in the USA. So here's the ins and outs of the trade, but at the end of the day there's no deal for the animals being tortured - that's why we call for global action!

The B&K Universal Group, based north of Hull, was run formerly owned by cleaning products manufacturer Reckitt Benckiser before the then Junior Lab Technician Gerald C. Bantin took over the running of the business with his former wife Kingman. Following their divorse, the company was run by the Bantin family and bought the some of the import vans from Shamrock Monkey Farm when they closed down, and ran a similar primate deal with their broker in Singapore. However, in October 2009 the company was sold through an extremely secretive deal to growing USA beagle breeders Marshall BioResources, also known as Marshall Farms. A 'cover company' was founded by three directors of Marshall, through Leeds-based York Place Company Services Ltd, and named BK Star Ltd to conduct the transactions of the £2,250,000 deal. It is believed that now Marshall Farms have been uncovered as the new owners, the company will place B&K Universal into administration and trade under their normal name.
