Asylum seekers 'tricked and humiliated' by UKBA staff

A whistleblower at the United Kingdom Border Agency in Cardiff exposes the racist and ignorant culture of the UKBA, including the award of a giant monkey to be given to any staff member who grants an asylum application.

I'd missed this story - thanks for posting it. I'm so glad Louise Perrett spoke out. All the people that will have been turned down abitrarily on the whim of some racist shit - makes my blood boil.

scummy little fucks. like cops, like prison officers, like detention centre (ie prison) officers. their job is to inflict suffering on other human beings. they are the concentration camp guards of the future.

I have seen this lady speak, and she was employed on a three-month contract. Pretty much immediately after starting she didn't want to continue, but she thought she would see it out to the end to find out what the UKBA is like, and I for one am glad she did.
