BNP Candidate Standing at Hucknall Central By-Election

On Thursday 11th February, the fascist BNP candidate Edward Holmes will be standing for District Councillor for the Hucknall Central Ward in Ashfield, Nottinghamshire.

The fascist BNP will have a candidate standing at the Hucknall Central by-election on Thursday 11th February. Their candidate is Edward Holmes, former chairman of Ashfield District Council and a former Labour Councillor. If elected, he would become District Councillor for the Hucknall Central Ward.

We in UAF want to alert people to the fact that a BNP member is standing, and mobilise the anti-fascist majority to turn out and vote against the BNP 11th Feb. In the past, the BNP have generally only managed to get elected where there is a low turnout. We want to make sure that on this occasion there is as high a turnout as possible, that people use their vote to make sure that the BNP are kept out.

The BNP are continually attempting to appear more respectable by increasing their Councillors, appearing on the News and mainstream television programmes such as Question Time. It is essential that we block these tactics wherever possible. The BNP is not a legitimate political party, it is a racist group of people who want the UK to become monocultural and "99% genetically white".

Obviously we want to make sure the BNP does not get elected in Hucknall, and we will therefore be door to door flyering in Hucknall central ward, on the two Sundays leading up to the election. The plan is to meet at Hucknall tram stop at 1pm, this Sunday 31st January and the following Sunday 7th February. We really need to get as many people as possible involved with the flyering, so if you are free on either of these dates please give us a shout.

If you are interested in helping out this Sunday, please send us an email or contact Matt on 07849 392 842, and for the following Sunday 7th Feb contact Richard on 07940 952 825.
