2010 - 4.5 million dead in Afghan Holocaust, Afghan Genocide

Gideon Polya | 11.01.2010 15:35 | Analysis | Anti-militarism | Anti-racism | World

As we enter the 2010s the deaths from the Afghanistan War include 4.5 million violent and non-violent excess deaths of Indigenous Afghans since 2001.

The carnage of Obama's Afghan War, Afghan Holocaust and Afghan Genocide is already comparable to that of the WW2 Jewish Holocaust.

As we enter the 2010s the deaths from the Afghanistan War include 4.5 million violent and non-violent excess deaths of Indigenous Afghans since 2001, 1,550 US Alliance deaths and 0.7 million global opiate deaths.

It is estimated from the latest UN Population Division data that in Occupied Afghanistan post-invasion non-violent excess deaths total 3.4 million; post-invasion violent deaths total 1.1 million (assuming expert US-Australian advice that the level of violence has been 4 times lower in the Afghan War than in the Iraq War); post-invasion violent and non-violent avoidable deaths total 4.5 million; and post-invasion under-5 infant deaths total 2.4 million (90% avoidable and due to US Alliance war crimes in gross violence of the Geneva Convention – Articles 55 and 56 of the Geneva Convention Relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War demand that an Occupier must supply life-sustaining food and medical requisites "to the fullest extent of the means available to it" (see:  http://www1.umn.edu/humanrts/instree/y4gcpcp.htm ) but according to the WHO (see:  http://www.who.int/countries/en/ ) the "total annual expenditure on health per capita" permitted in Occupied Afghanistan is $29 as compared to $6,714 in Occupier US and $3,122 in Occupier racist, white Apartheid Australia).

There are 3-4 million Afghan refugees plus a further 2.5 million Pashtun refugees generated in NW Pakistan by the obscene war policies of war criminal Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Obama – this carnage involving 4.5 million post-invasion violent and non-violent excess Afghan deaths constitutes an Afghan Holocaust and an Afghan Genocide as defined by Article 2 of the UN Genocide Convention (see:  http://www.edwebproject.org/sideshow/genocide/convention.html ).

Article 2 of the UN Genocide Convention states that "In the present Convention, genocide means any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnic, racial or religious group, as such: a) Killing members of the group; b) Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group; c) Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part; d) Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group; e) Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group."

The bottom line in any comparative analysis of violent wrongdoing is consequential death. The current "annual death rate" for Occupied Afghan under-5 year old infants under the US Alliance is 7% - as compared to that of 4% (for Poles under the Nazis in WW2), 5% (French Jews under the Nazis and the Nazi-collaborator Vichy régime in WW2), 13% (Australian POWs of the Japanese in WW2) and 19% (Jews in Nazi-occupied Europe) (see "Polish Holocaust (1939-1945)-Afghan Holocaust (2001-)":  http://gpolya.polls.newsvine.com/_news/2009/09/02/3218030-polish-holocaust-1939-1945-afghan-holocaust-2001-?groupId=1191.

About 0.1 million people die from opiate drug-related causes each year (see Australian National Drug Research Centre:  http://db.ndri.curtin.edu.au/media.asp?mediarelid=40 ; UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), "Addiction, crime and insurgency. The transnational threat of Afghan opium", 2009:  http://www.unodc.org/documents/data-and-analysis/Afghanistan/Afghan_Opium_Trade_2009_web.pdf ) and hence about 0.8 million have died since the invasion of Afghanistan in October 2001, of whom about 90%, i.e. 0.9 x 0.8 million = 0.7 million people - including 90,000-130,000 Americans - have died as a result of the huge expansion of the Afghan opium industry under US Alliance occupation and the US restoration of the Taliban-destroyed Afghan opium industry.

For detailed updates on the carnage from Obama's Afghan War see "Afghan Holocaust, Afghan Genocide":  http://sites.google.com/site/afghanholocaustafghangenocide/.

The carnage of Obama's Afghan War, Afghan Holocaust and Afghan Genocide (4.5 million Afghan deaths, 0.7 million global deaths from opiates) is already comparable to that of the WW2 Jewish Holocaust (5-6 million Jews killed, 1 in 6 dying from deprivation).

Decent folk around that World could stop the Afghan War, Afghan Holocaust and Afghan Genocide - by (a) informing others about the carnage and (b) by demanding or applying sanctions, boycotts and criminal prosecutions against people, politicians, corporations and countries responsible (e.g. see "Formal complaint to the Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) re Australian Government involvement in Aboriginal Genocide, Iraqi Genocide, Afghan Genocide and Climate Genocide ":  http://climateemergency.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html ).

73 million died in worldwar2 over 6 yrs, theres no holocaust camps in Aghanistan

12.01.2010 08:15

1.1 million have died violently by various sides in Afghanistan, around 10 million died in the holocaust systematically industrially slaughtered by the Nazis.
The war needs to stop,
ther oil companies need to pay the most,
the surge & obamas tactics arent stopping the war, a coalition government in Afghanistan with real international independent peacekeepers&reconstricters would help there & in all war zones.
We cannot just say pullout, the Taliban were debatedly more stable, but they are also intolerant dictators& would let as much blood if they got power again.
A first past the post system with slight winner takes all system like Uk & USAs does not encourage cooperation, participation or engagement by citizens with one another

Aghanistan worked for centuries with clans & consenus, competitive systems, benefits, oil companies, elites & warlords+ taliban, revive their consensus-based system& get out!

Dr Polya your tactics to stop the occupation seem good, but your statistics seem to stir it up, will that make life better in Afghabistan?,

A Sign of Empire Pathology

More US military personnel have taken their OWN lives than have died in action

Here is a shocking statistic that you won't hear in most western news media: over the past nine years, more US military personnel have taken their own lives than have died in action in either the wars in Iraq or Afghanistan. These are official figures from the US Department of Defence, yet somehow they have not been deemed newsworthy to report. Last year alone, more than 330 serving members of the US armed forces committed suicide - more than the 320 killed in Afghanistan and the 150 who fell in Iraq (see wsws.org).

Since 2001, when Washington launched its so-called war on terror, there has been a dramatic year-on-year increase in US military suicides, particularly in the army, which has borne the brunt of fighting abroad. Last year saw the highest total number since such records began in 1980. Prior to 2001, the suicide rate in the US military was lower than that for the general US population; now, it is nearly double the national average.

A growing number of these victims have been deployed in Iraq or Afghanistan. What these figures should tell us is that there is something fundamentally deranged about Washington's "war on terror" - which is probably why western news media prefer to ignore the issue. How damning is it about such military campaigns that the number of US soldiers who take their own lives outnumber those killed by enemy combatants.

What is even more disturbing is that the official figures only count victims of suicide among serving personnel. Not included are the many more veterans - officially classed a civilians - who take their own lives.

Most likely, these deaths are reported in some small-town newspaper in "a brief" news item with no context or background as to what drove these individuals to take their own lives. It is estimated that the suicide rate among veterans demobbed from fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq is as high as four times the national average. The US Department of Veteran Affairs calculates that over 6,000 former service personnel commit suicide every year.

Many of these men have come home to a country they have fought for only to find no jobs, their homes repossessed by banks that have enjoyed trillion-dollar bailouts and broken relationships.

Meanwhile, President Obama - the erstwhile peace candidate - has taken on the role of Commander in Chief with gusto, telling his countrymen and women that they are fighting a "just war" to "defend American lives". Only a year ago, he was campaigning for the presidency on a ticket to end such wars. Now, more than his predecessor, George W Bush, Obama is committing to wars without end. How soul-destroying is that for a grunt holed up in a bunker, with his young family back home probably telling him that they have just signed up for food stamps? In their guts, these US soldiers must know - as many other ordinary people around the world do - that these wars are nothing but a desperate, pathological bid by a dying power to salvage its crumbling empire - an empire that enriches a tiny elite and impoverishes the majority. Is it any wonder that many of them simply lose the will to live?

17million WW2systematic holocaust, Afghan consensus politics+democracry2stop war

12.01.2010 16:42

Ive forwarded Dr Polypas research on this before onto IMC+stop the war groups, more swiss direct democracy&consensus style politics advocated by many anarchists shows we need to change our rhetoric as a movement.
Is it a holocaust in Afghanistan, isnt it a sick genocide& dont we need to be v.careful???
100 million kids died unecessarily in the last decade!,due to our malthusian system out of which war erupts, we can evolve though with more direct & cooperative democracy, apportioning all the blame on "one side-person or another". Prosecutions of war criminals on both sides must happen, but in the most educated & careful way if we dont want more strife

Iam partially disabled & my mums family were austrian poles, upto 17 million were murdered directly & systematically by the nazis holocaust in 6 yrs,
what is happening in Afghanistan is genocide not holocaust& those responsible for war crimes on both sides especially the invaders& some oil companies must be prosecuted!
I think you damage your excellent case by calling it a holocaust& give excuses to potential suicide bombers in Al queada

""the National Socialist killing of the Jews was unique in that never before had a state with the authority of its responsible leader decided and announced that a specific human group, including its aged, its women and its children and infants, would be killed as quickly as possible, and then carried through this resolution using every possible means of state power".[41]""

just a quick one that i think people have forgotten to condemn

we also need to prosecute the terrorists. I lot of people protest against the US and the UK, but i think we also need to be seen protesting against the terrorists to hilight the killing they do.
