Police in Turkey attacks people who opposes US military bases
Urgent action needed . Please send protest messages to officials

URGENT ACTION
People of Turkey are campaigning for the closure of US Military bases in Turkey. These bases are used to transfer military personals to Afghanistan and Iraq. It also been used for fighter jets to be deployed to these war torn countries and bombed civilians and killed thousands of them.

As part of this campaign on16th and 27th December 2009 in the town of Edirne the members of the youth organisations been attacked by police and fascists. There have been few arrests as well.

On 03rd January 2010 a protest was organised to condemn these attacks but protesters were not allowed in to the city of Edirne. They have again been attacked and wounded by police and civil fascists. Since then the activists are waiting just outside Edirne. They are so determined to use their legitimate and democratic right of protest and free speech.

Please send protest messages to following officials requesting for the activists to be allowed into the city.
