EDO Brighton - latest developments

Smasher | 06.01.2010 15:49 | Anti-militarism | South Coast

As many Indy readers will be aware there has been a long running campaign to close down the arms company EDO in Brighton South East England. For some time we have felt we have been getting close to achieving that target as a result of the economic damage inflicted upon EDO, today we are revising that view !

Information received shows the ITT, the parent company of EDO is about to announce a mssive investment and expansion of the site. EDO will become part of the ITT Advanced Engineering & Sciences and Systems division that will combine with Intelligence & Information Warfare division to form the Information Systems division. As part of the change EDO will receive an investment of nearly 123 million US Dollars to increase production and to fund a new factory close to the existing plant.

We must stop this, if this factory is allowed to open then the battle will be lost. We are asking for any information from local people that could help us discover the site of the new factory, ask your friends, check with sympathetic local councillers, ask builders, plumbers or other local tradespeople who might be bidding for contracts at the new site. Try registering with the local Job Centre as it is likely that EDO will be recruiting new staff and offer a ficticious CV that has skills they will value.

If you know anybody who works there ask them, it might just work
