Just working class cannon fodder for the imperialists war on the working class

Tuesday 29 December I awoke put the radio on and as I lay there in a warm bed the news that Akmal Shaikh, 53, a father-of-three from London, was executed in China after being convicted of drug smuggling despite claims he was mentally ill, having Bipolar myself I very much disagree with the name mentally ill, it is an ugly illness agreed.

I am not in favour of the death penalty, not even for mass – murderers. After all, did Jesus of Nazareth not tell us to spare the sinner, or cast the first stone if we have never sinned? The Chinese authorities take a different view; after all, did the British and French imperialists not seek to weaken their society by selling them hard drugs not so long ago? The memory of the opium trade may still be fresh in the minds of their officials. I find it a crime that a Akmal Shaikh who may had Bipolar is being made to pay the price of those past wrongs.

It left me cold inside, what must it be like? for the thousands on Death Row across the world, and here is the grand hypocrisy..

Just the same as Briton has done in the illegal occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan where the working class have lost there life's, meanwhile we still not condone The Israeli apologists who say, in yet another desperate attempt at diversion that there are victims on both sides, and that is undoubtedly true, but lets state the obvious, what’s fortunately becoming obvious for quite a few people these days: Israel is the aggressor. Israel is the BAD GUY here. So let’s focus on Israel’s numerous atrocities, on Israel’s utter disregard for anything resembling humanity..

One year on from The Mass Murder of 1417 people were killed, including at least 318 children, we remember Gaza Iraq and Afghanistan, as Iran hits the news we need also to raise some concern of events happening there, we need to ask is this an uprising? from the people or one that is been orchestrated from the same imperialists who 30 years ago to this date was over in Afghanistan was helping the Taliban and Al-Qaeda fight the Russian invasion and Ivan Lewis says "China had failed in its basic human rights responsibilities." for hundreds of years capitalism has failed the working class perhaps we need to make it history?

The misfortune of some poor sod who is to be executed is worthy of sympathy I agree, but it’s use as a bloody political baton to beat China over the head was probably the plan all along and fortuitously enables the further racking up of the Jingo Bells.

Prior to Akmal the last Briton to be executed abroad was Jackie Elliott in Huntsville, Texas 2003. Eleven months before that in 2002 Tracy Housel was put to death in Georgia... was there a murmur? Don’t recall seeing phrases like "This will inevitably have an impact on diplomatic relations between the countries." being bandied about on the media when such happened. No! Get it in perspective! These words are only to be used against uncivilized peoples like er….. China

Its not hard these days to research their involvement in lots of shitty things, similiar to britain and the u.s. You are complaining because Gordon and the british decided to condemn the execution.

(my understanding is that Gordon is condemning it because of the mental health aspect and that he was duped - the other executions could be argued that they were fully guity and were nasty people who did terrible deeds worthy of execution)

People were posting on indymedia to hassle the british government to condemn the execution. The british have done that. And now you are having a go because they have done what people on Indymedia wanted them to do. If they didn't condemn it, you would probably have a go at them anyway.

Sounds like a no-win situation which means you are just having a go for its own sakes rather than giving a shit about the guy who was executed.

You're actually quite ignorant and before echoing the aforementioned post urging you to fuck off, I'd like to urge you to educate yourself, not much, just a tiny bit so you will not keep on publicly demonstrate your total lack of political awareness or even simple social awareness.

Indymedia is an alternative information portal. It seeks to inform people about situations by presenting opinions that might be suppressed by government-controlled media. These opinions can be contributed openly by pretty much anyone intelligent enough to figure out how to contribute.

This means that the opinions stated on indymedia are most of all INDIVIDUAL opinions. Indymedia does not and should not have a common solid policy on opinions. This is not the aim. Therefore some people post here hoping that the government will condemn the execution, while some others find this absurd. They are both equally entitled to their opinion, and this is what indymedia is here for. It allows both voices to be heard and it gives readers the chance to consider both and come up with their own thoughts.

So, to sum up, Indymedia does not want anyone to do anything. Indymedia does not have an opinion. Indymedia simply HOSTS opinions. The opinions of different people, who think in different ways.

At this point, you might want to ask yourself why you are visiting this website. Even more so, why are you actually posting on this website? Do you actually have something to say? If you do, you really haven't said it yet, so please do!

If you're yet another case of someone being paid by the government to troll on here, you're part of the working class, yes, that "bit of an old analogy". In which case, I find it hard to see why you would be supporting them, instead of us! Who is us, you might ask.. Well, there's several possible answers to that and you'll have to figure this bit out for yourself.

Paragraphs 1, 2, 3 and 4 are all about me complaining that "Indymedia" has written something.
When you tell lies, you need to make sure the evidence isn't there to debunk your lies. I blatantly havn't done what you have said I have.

Paragraph 5 says that i havn't written anything. Well i think what i've written is pretty clear enough.
1) It seems the author of the article and some commentors are complaining that the British government have criticised the the Chinese government over this matter.
2) A few days earlier people on indymedia were DEMANDING that the british government criticise china.
My point is pretty obvious.... The british government can't condemn and then not condemn at the same time. I think people like yourself are being unreasonable, so I am questioning your true motives.

Paragraph 6 is about the only paragraph of your post that has any relevance or substance.
