Can anti-capitalists celebrate xmas?

oioi | 20.12.2009 17:11

xmas- capitalisms crowning moment.

A question I have been asking myself, and considering for some time now. Christmas is the ultimate in greed culture; much is bought and wasted at this time of year. It is capitalisms greatest achievement, the one day it can celebrate in knowing all over people buy its crap, munch on so much more food. And all for what??? A fake religion? The thought of giving? What about solstice. And why so much. Personally I stopped celebrating it years ago. I just felt so guilty, living on protest sites, going to demos and being involved in direct action yet still involved in the big fake Xmas scam.

This is all it is, a scam.
