Further information about the events on 12 December with the text of the call to action from the global climate campaign.
Call to Action
Please encourage your friends/family/colleagues/comrades to join us at 12:00 noon in the Market Square. We expect to finish soon after 12:30pm having made ourselves seen and heard.
Please bring banners/placards/drums/whistles.
We are handily placed to also enjoy the East Midlands Vegan Festival in the Council House. Warm drinks and good food will be served for most of the day.
Later at the New Mechanics you can enter into a lively debate/discussion about 'Business as Usual?' with Alan Simpson MP, Derek Wall and Martin Empson. Please arrive at 1:30pm to enjoy a glass of mulled wine or other hot drinks (and vegan mince pies!) prior to the meeting.
Don't forget the 'Climate Justice Party' at the Sumac from 7:30pm.
