English Defence League: Poud Patriots. UAF: Trouble causing, violent fascists.

Zefiris | 07.12.2009 20:07 | Anti-racism | Culture | Social Struggles

The topic seemingly on everybodies lips at the moment is the almost monthly protests organised by the group the English Defence League. A group who came into existance shortly after British soldiers were abused by Muslim extremists on the streets of London.

A group who have took it upon themselves to give a voice to the thousands of people across Britain who are sick of the threat of Islamic Extremism.

A threat that has not been helped by the actions of the British government who, whilst British soldiers take the fight against terror to the front line slap those brave lads in the face by letting terrorists out of jail early, giving terror suspects benefits and giving those who aid and support terror minimal sentances meaning they are allowed back out onto the streets after a few years. All done whilst our soldiers are fighting against terror with a lack of body armour, boots that don't fit, next to no helicopters and inadequetely armoured vehicles.

The English Defence League, contrary to the medias lies and slander are, though formed by leaders of different football firms compose of a wide variety of people from different back grounds. From students to doctors to football fans to ex members of the armed forces. They have all come together in solidarity. Solidarity in their love for the once great country of England and anger at the state in which this once fine land has become. They see many British towns overran by Islamic Extremists who have made many streets in towns such as Halifax and Oldham no go areas for non-Muslims. Areas in England that the English people can not go for fear of attack by those who hate this country and hate the people of this country.

The English Defence League, throughout their short history have continued to grow and grow despite the efforts of the media and the Unite Against Fascism organisation. They have been portrayed as Nazis, racists and fascists. This is despite having Jewish, Sikh and Hindu members. The UAF have even claimed that the EDL are against black people, this is despite the head of EDL youth been a half cast male and many black British citizens making up an important part of the group.

Despite the lies and the insults the EDL have continued to grow, getting almost 1500 people turn up at their Nottingham demo. A crowd not composed of football hooligans as the media claim but a group composed of all walks of life, all bought together for their love of this country and anger that extremists are allowed to openly preach hatred against Britain and change out way of life with nothing been done about it by the government.

Opposing the EDL are the UAF, a group composed mainly of brain-washed middle-class students with a sense of self-loathing at been born white and british. UAF are openly anti-British with key members expressing disgust that British flags get flown in Britain. They are also disrespectful to the armed forces, in Manchester members of the UAF booed and heckled a 2 minutes silence held by members of the English Defence League. The antics of Unite Against Fascism do not stop there however.

Violent, aggressive and unruly they have openly threatened to attack pubs that serve members of the English Defence League at demonstrations with one individual even threatening to set off a pipe bomb. Wheras the English Defence League protest peacefully and try to avoid confrontation the UAF openly seek confrontation, sending a non-stop barrage of bottles and bricks towards members of the English Defence League and complaining bitterly on websites about the police not letting them get to the EDL. A surprising complaint given that the EDL are composed mainly of 6 foot plus males who can handle themselves in a fight wheras the UAF consist of undernourished, pale faced students whose only fights have been on World of Warcraft.

It is not just the EDL who the UAF oppose. They oppose and call 'fascist' and 'Nazi' anybody who is proud to be English, proud to be British and against immigration. If you say Britains got a problem with too many immigrants coming in then the UAF will call you a 'Nazi'. Anfunny insult to use towards the EDL really given that many of the EDL members families thought against the Nazis in World War 2.

For all their cries about groups such as the EDL been Nazis the UAF have displayed quite a lot of racist behaviour themselves. This is mainly towards white people, an occurance that has happened during EDL demonstrations were non-EDL members passing by the UAF have had insults hurled at them and have even been physically attacked. There is a famous video of a young lad been attacked and almost killed by a pack of angry, cowardly Muslims in Birmigham after an EDL demonstration. Why was he attacked? Because the Muslim youth were encouraged to attack him and others by the UAF who falsely accused said lad of been a member of the EDL.

The anti-Britishness doesn't stop there. Though the UAF refuse to fly the British flag or the English Flag at any demonstrations they are quite happy to fly the flag of Pakistan, even going so far to as do so during the Mercians homecoming in Nottingham. A slap in the face to our brave soldiers if ever there was one. Their complaints about the EDL are also deep in anti-white racism with UAF members claiming the EDL are fascist because they fly the flag of St George or rather hilariously because they chanted "Fuck the IRA" An act which was deemed unacceptable by the one member of the UAF who must be living under a rock since she seems to think the IRA are nice sensitive people who don't deserve abuse like that.

The racism of the UAF doesn't just extend to white people however. They are openly anti-semetic with members often making comments relating to ZOG, a term used most often by Neo-Nazis who hate Jews. Though they claim not to hate other races there can be no doubt that the UAF are subconsiously racist towards them. Remarks by the UAF have hinted that their members think that ethnics such as black can not make their own mind up about matters and get manipulated easy. A claim made by members and supporters of the UAF after it was revealed that the EDL had black members. Apparently because a black has joined the EDL they have been tricked, manipulated or forced to join and need re-educating. Racist much? Are the UAF hinting that blacks can not make their mind up about things such as this? Maybe they are hinting that black people living in Britain can not love this country?

On a last note I would like to point out the welcomign behaviour given by members of the EDL towards ethnic members. On their online forum any sikh, hindu, Jewish, black or even Muslim member has been welcomed well. The welcoming nature of the EDL going so far to as offer protection to a Muslim member who travelled from Scotland to attend the Nottingham demonstration over fears that he will become a target for Islamic Extremists who will brand him a traitor.
