Obama lying by omission and commission
Within weeks of being awarded the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize, war maker, warmonger and war criminal Obama has announced a huge escalation of the Afghan War to West Point US Military Academy trainee US storm troopers in a speech littered with outrageous lying by commission and lying by omission.
Below is an analysis of the lies of omission and commission in Obama’s 1 December Speech on the Afghan War made to . [1].
1. Obama: “To address these issues, it is important to recall why America and our allies were compelled to fight a war in Afghanistan in the first place. We did not ask for this fight. On September 11, 2001, nineteen men hijacked four airplanes and used them to murder nearly 3,000 people … ”
Reality: Even according to the “official Bush version of 9-11” NO Afghans were directly involved in the alleged hijackings on 9-11. None of the alleged hijackers survived and accordingly none of the 9-11 allegations of the egregiously dishonest Bush Administration have been tested in a judicial court.
2. Obama: “As we know, these men belonged to al Qaeda – a group of extremists who have distorted and defiled Islam, one of the world’s great religions, to justify the slaughter of innocents. Al Qaeda’s base of operations was in Afghanistan, where they were harbored by the Taliban – a ruthless, repressive and radical movement that seized control of that country after it was ravaged by years of Soviet occupation and civil war, and after the attention of America and our friends had turned elsewhere.”
Reality: Al Qaeda was supported by the US for a dozen years after the US engineered the overthrow of the secular, pro-woman socialist régime in Afghanistan in 1978, this resulting in Soviet invasion and devastating US-backed war resulting in ultimate defeat in 1989 of the Russians (1979-1989 Afghanistan violent and non-violent excess deaths 2.9 million). A further decade of civil war resulted eventually in the capture of Kabul by the formerly US-supported Taliban in 1996 and the 1999 UN-brokered peace between warlord Massoud and the Taliban (1 million dead, 3 million refugees and 1989-1999 excess mortality 3.3 million).
3. Obama: “Under the banner of this domestic unity and international legitimacy – and only after the Taliban refused to turn over Osama bin Laden – we sent our troops into Afghanistan. Within a matter of months, al Qaeda was scattered and many of its operatives were killed. The Taliban was driven from power and pushed back on its heels.”
Reality: The Afghan Government (not “the Taliban”) agreed to hand alleged 9-11 perpetrator Osama to a Third Country for transparent justice. The offer was rejected by the US which was intent on war. It is worth noting the while Osama is on the FBI Most Wanted List he is not explicitly wanted for involvement in the 9-11 atrocity. According to the “FBI- Most Wanted”: “USAMA BIN LADEN IS WANTED IN CONNECTION WITH THE AUGUST 7, 1998, BOMBINGS OF THE UNITED STATES EMBASSIES IN DAR ES SALAAM, TANZANIA, AND NAIROBI, KENYA. THESE ATTACKS KILLED OVER 200 PEOPLE. IN ADDITION, BIN LADEN IS A SUSPECT IN OTHER TERRORIST ATTACKS THROUGHOUT THE WORLD.”
4. Obama: “A place that had known decades of fear now had reason to hope. At a conference convened by the UN, a provisional government was established under President Hamid Karzai. And an International Security Assistance Force was established to help bring a lasting peace to a war-torn country.”
Reality: Some hope for “lasting peace to a war-torn country” – indeed authoritative Americans talk of an endless war in Occupied Afghanistan . Indeed it is hard to imagine any people – let alone one of the most fiercely independent people in the world – forgiving the devastation of Afghanistan in 8 years of further foreign invasion (post-invasion violent and non-violent excess deaths conservatively estimated now at 4.2 million; for discussion see below). Karzai was installed in elections held under Occupier guns, with a major political force, the Taliban, excluded from participation. Indeed in the recent profoundly corrupt “democratic elections” Karzai was the only candidate for president.
Afghanistan has not invaded another country for centuries (indeed after the catastrophic defeat of the Hindu Marathas at the 1760 Third Battle of Panipot by a Muslim-Afghan Confederacy under Ahmed Shah, the Afghans simply returned home). In contrast within 1 year of D-Day (1944), Nazi Germany which had inflicted a catastrophic 40 million-victim Holocaust on Western and Eastern Europe was at peace under Allied Occupation.
Warmongering, war-making, war-criminal Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Obama is clearly saying, like Big Brother in Orwell’’s novel “1984”, “war is peace”.
5. Obama: “Then, in early 2003, the decision was made to wage a second war in Iraq. The wrenching debate over the Iraq War is well-known and need not be repeated here. It is enough to say that for the next six years, the Iraq War drew the dominant share of our troops, our resources, our diplomacy, and our national attention – and that the decision to go into Iraq caused substantial rifts between America and much of the world.”
Reality: The words “wrenching debate” hide the reality that Iraq was invaded based on false, Anglo-American “terror hysteria” allegations of Iraqi “weapons of mass destruction”. A further dimension of the extent of the massive dishonesty is currently being elicited by the (albeit pro-American) UK Chilcot Inquiry into the Iraq War. A major US think-tank found that the White House told 935 lies about the national security threat from Iraq between 2001 and 2003.
6. Obama: “Today, after extraordinary costs, we are bringing the Iraq war to a responsible end. We will remove our combat brigades from Iraq by the end of next summer, and all of our troops by the end of 2011. That we are doing so is a testament to the character of our men and women in uniform. Thanks to their courage, grit and perseverance , we have given Iraqis a chance to shape their future, and we are successfully leaving Iraq to its people.”
Reality: Obama ignores horrendous Iraqi death toll (4.2 million excess deaths, 1990-2009) and is saying, like Big Brother, that “:war is peace”, “slavery is freedom, “ignorance is strength” and “2 plus 2 does not equal 4”. According to i-casualties.org, the cost to the US of the Iraq War has been 4,367 dead (4.685 dead for the US Coalition as a whole), 32,000 Americans physically wounded and an accrual cost of $3.5 trillion according to US Economics Nobel Laureate and former World Bank Chief Economist Professor Joseph Stiglitz (Columbia University).
7. Obama: “But while we have achieved hard-earned milestones in Iraq [4.2 million dead Iraqis] , the situation in Afghanistan has deteriorated. After escaping across the border into Pakistan in 2001 and 2002, al Qaeda’s leadership established a safe-haven there. Although a legitimate government was elected by the Afghan people, it has been hampered by corruption, the drug trade, an under-developed economy, and insufficient Security Forces. Over the last several years, the Taliban has maintained common cause with al Qaeda, as they both seek an overthrow of the Afghan government. Gradually, the Taliban has begun to take control over swaths of Afghanistan, while engaging in increasingly brazen and devastating acts of terrorism against the Pakistani people.”
Reality: A government elected under the guns of Occupiers - and with the dominant, religiously-based political group, the Taliban, not merely banned from participation but also being hunted down for extermination, imprisonment and torture (all war crimes) – is hardly a “legitimate government”. As indicated above, the US-installed President Karzai has been “re-elected” as the only candidate standing. Further, whatever people might think about fundamentalist Muslim Taliban (e.g. I am an agnostic Humanist scientist so I do not care for religious or political fundamentalism) they are vastly less dangerous than racist fundamentalist American imperialist warmongers like Obama and indeed the mid-1990s the Taliban finally brought peace to Afghanistan.
Further, the Taliban did some other good things in addition to bringing peace to war-torn Afghanistan. Thus drug experts have estimated that about 7 million people die annually around the world from tobacco smoking, alcohol and illicit drugs, the annual drug-related deaths breakdown being 5 million (smoking), 1.8 million (alcohol), 0.2 million (illicit drugs), this latter including about 0.1 million deaths from opiate drugs.
The Taliban enforced prohibition of alcohol (now overturned by the US Alliance), forbade the smoking of cigarettes by Government employees (1997; presumably also overturned by the US Alliance) and in 2000 prohibited the growing of opium poppies (this resulting in the reduction of the Afghan opium industry from about 79% of world production in 1999 to 6% of world market share by 2001).
Unfortunately, the US Alliance invasion resulted in the rapid restoration of the Taliban-restored Afghan opium industry to about 76% of world production by 2002 and subsequent expansion to a current 93% of world production (for detailed statistics see the UN Office on Drugs and Crime World Drug Report 2007). In one of his early acts as president, Obama ordered cessation of destruction of Afghan opium poppy crops – this making him an evil and contemptible successor to George W. Bush as the world’s worst drug pusher and world’s #1 drug lord.
According to the US Center for Disease Control (CDC) in 2005, of 18,347 deaths due to narcotics and psychodysleptics in the US, 12, 262 were due to heroin (2,011) , other opioids (5,789) or methadone (4,462) . Given the over 90% contribution of the US restoration of the Taliban-destroyed opium industry to world illicit heroin production, and the interconnectedness and effective indistinguishability of “Afghan-derived heroin” from the “pool” of other abusively-used opiates, one can accordingly crudely estimate 0.9 x 12,262 persons/year x 8. years = 88, 286 US opiate drug-related deaths and 0.9 x 2,011 deaths/year x 8 years = 14,479 US heroin-related deaths connected with the aftermath of the US invasion and occupation of Afghanistan.
As for my own country, pro-Zionist, anti-Asian, pro-war, US lackey Apartheid Australia, it can be estimated that there are about 426 opiate-related deaths annually in Australia of which about 90% (383) are due to the US-responsible Occupied Afghan contribution to the world heroin market i.e. 383 x 8 years = 3,064 or roughly 3,000 opiate-related deaths since the invasion of Afghanistan (the Australian Government has fatuously obfuscated this in detailed communication to me by saying that most of Australia’s heroin actually comes from places other than Afghanistan).
About 0.1 million people die annually in the world from illicit opiate drug-related causes and 90% of the market is due to the US-restored and US-protected Afghan opium industry. In his first year in office Obama will have been responsible for about 11,000 US opiate drug-related deaths, 1,800 US heroin-related deaths, about 400 Australian opiate-related deaths and about 90,000 global illicit opiate drug-related deaths, .this latter carnage being numerically equivalent to that from THIRTY (30) September 11 (9-11) atrocities.
8. Obama: “This review is now complete. And as Commander-in-Chief, I have determined that it is in our vital national interest to send an additional 30,000 U.S. troops to Afghanistan. After 18 months, our troops will begin to come home. These are the resources that we need to seize the initiative, while building the Afghan capacity that can allow for a responsible transition of our forces out of Afghanistan. I do not make this decision lightly. I opposed the war in Iraq precisely because I believe that we must exercise restraint in the use of military force, and always consider the long-term consequences of our actions. We have been at war for eight years, at enormous cost in lives and resources.”
Reality: US forces will remain in Occupied Iraq until at least 2011 – the killing continues. Obama is again saying, like Big Brother, that “war is peace”. And Obama, of course, does not mention the 4.2 million Afghans who have died.
9. Obama: “All told, by the time I took office the cost of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan approached a trillion dollars. Going forward, I am committed to addressing these costs openly and honestly. Our new approach in Afghanistan is likely to cost us roughly 30 billion dollars for the military this year, and I will work closely with Congress to address these costs as we work to bring down our deficit.”
Reality: According to US Economics Nobel Laureate and former World Bank Chief Economist, Professor Joseph Stiglitz (Columbia University), the accrual cost (long-term costed cost) of the Iraq War alone is $3.5 trillion.
10. Obama: “We will have to take away the tools of mass destruction. That is why I have made it a central pillar of my foreign policy to secure loose nuclear materials from terrorists; to stop the spread of nuclear weapons; and to pursue the goal of a world without them.”
Reality: The US and its allies (UK, France, Apartheid Israel, and Pakistan), its increasingly important additional commercial partners (India and China) and its partner in détente, Russia, all have nuclear weapons, with the nuclear terrorist US having nearly as many as the rest of the World put together. Clearly a denuclearized world is a key goal for Humanity but Obama’s hypocrisy is breathtaking – threatening peaceful, remote and Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty-signatory Iran for undertaking peaceful commercial nuclear applications while supporting the nuclear armament of the nuclear terrorist, Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty-NON-signatory, rogue state Apartheid Israel.
11. Obama: “It is easy to forget that when this war began, we were united – bound together by the fresh memory of a horrific attack [9-11], and by the determination to defend our homeland and the values we hold dear.”
Reality: Notwithstanding the best efforts of the US Establishment to cover-up the truth, Science has finally proven US complicity in the 9-11 atrocity before, during and after, through (a) demonstration of unexploded nano-thermite high explosive in all samples of the World Trade Center dust examined by scientists at the prestigious Chemistry Department, University of Copenhagen and (b) exhaustive, multiple eye-witness testimony that the official account of the jet plane attack on the Pentagon was utterly false. Obama’s part in the US post-9-11 Big Lie make him an accessory after the fact of the 9-11 atrocity just as pro-Zionist Obama’s inaction over the deliberate Israeli murder of 34 US servicemen on the USS :Liberty in 1967 make him an accessory after the fact of that war crime against US citizens. [2].
12. Obama: “America – we are passing through a time of great trial. And the message that we send in the midst of these storms must be clear: that our cause is just, our resolve unwavering. We will go forward with the confidence that right makes might, and with the commitment to forge an America that is safer, a world that is more secure, and a future that represents not the deepest of fears but the highest of hopes.”
Reality: Obama is complicit in the ongoing Palestinian Genocide, Iraqi Genocide and Afghan Genocide, these atrocities being associated, so far, with post-invasion non-violent excess deaths of 0.3 million, 1.0 million and 3.2 million, respectively; post-invasion violent deaths of 11,000, 1.3 million and 1.0 million, respectively (the latter figure assuming the conservative US adviser estimate that violence in Afghan War has been 4 times lower than in the Iraq War); post-invasion under-5 infant deaths of 0.2 million, 0.6 million and 2.3 million, respectively; and refugees totalling 7 million, 5-6 million and 3-4 million, respectively, with a further 2.5 million refugees from NW Pakistan generated under Obama war policies – a Palestinian Holocaust, Iraqi Holocaust and Afghan Holocaust and indeed a Palestinian Genocide, Iraqi Genocide and Afghan Genocide as defined by Article 2 of the UN Genocide Convention.
Indeed the Iraqi Genocide (1990-2009) involves 4.2 million violent and non-violent excess deaths and 1.8 million under-5 infant deaths as compared to the Afghan Genocide (2001-2009) involving 4.2 million violent and non-violent excess deaths and 2.3 million under-5 infant deaths, with the carnage of non-violent avoidable deaths under occupation due to US Alliance refusal to supply life-sustaining food and medical supplies demanded unequivocally of an Occupier “to the fullest extent of the means available to it” by Articles 55 and 56 of the Geneva Convention Relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War. Indeed WHO informs us that the total annual per capita health expenditure permitted by the US Occupier in Occupied Iraq and Occupied Afghanistan total $124 and $29, respectively , as compared to $6,714 in the US. [3].
The violent and non-violent avoidable deaths in both the Iraqi Genocide (4.2 million dead) and the Afghan Genocide (4.2 million dead) are of a similar magnitude to the death toll in the World War 2 Jewish Holocaust (5-6 million, dead, 1 in 6 dying from deprivation).
Indeed the current "annual death rate" for Occupied Afghan under-5 year old infants under the US Alliance is 7% - as compared to that of 4% (for Poles under the Nazis in WW2), 5% (French Jews under the Nazis and the Nazi-collaborator Vichy régime in WW2), 13% (Australian POWs of the Japanese in WW2) and 19% (Jews in Nazi-occupied Europe).
Thou shalt not kill children
The utter barbarity of Zionist-beholden US actions is summarized by the converse of Obama’s lying phrase “right makes might” – genocidal, racist US war policy under war-maker, warmonger, war criminal, Nobel Peace Prize winner Obama is simply “might makes right”.
In summary, Obama can be seen in his 1 December speech on the Afghan War to be lying by omission and lying by commission. Warmongering, war-making, war-criminal Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Obama is clearly saying, like Big Brother in Orwell’’s novel “1984”, that “war is peace”, “slavery is freedom”, “ignorance is strength” and “2 plus 2 does not equal 4”.
Obama must be arraigned before the International Criminal Court for ongoing war crimes. Sanctions and Boycotts must be urgently applied to all countries of the war criminal US Alliance.
