AFGHANISTAN IS THE VIETNAM WAR OF THE TWENTY FIRST CENTURY

Cardiff Stop the War Coalition hosts the Wales premiere of the acclaimed new film by award-winning Robert Greenwald (Director of Wal Mart: The High Cost of Low Price, Outfoxed & Iraq For Sale)

Based on extensive interviews with area specialists, counterinsurgency experts, soldiers, former CIA agents, Afghans, Pakistanis, and others, this ground-breaking documentary questions both the alleged aims and the methods of the expanding NATO war in Afghanistan/Pakistan. After eight years of US & UK. military engagement in Afghanistan, violence and instability still prevail. The film focuses on what military escalation will achieve in Afghanistan and how the war could further destabilize Pakistan. The film looks at the human and financial cost of the war. It questions the assumption that the war can liberate Afghan women and bring democracy.

The screening will be followed by a talk and discussion kicked off by local anti-war activists.

Admission Free. All Welcome.
