Defend Harrow from racists on Dec 13th

alf | 28.11.2009 13:21 | Anti-racism | World

Brent and Harrow Unite Against Fascism to oppose racist and Islamaphobic SOIE in Harrow on Dec 13th. Defend the united community of Harrow. Defend the Muslim community of Harrow.

DEFEND HARROW’S DIVERSE & UNITED COMMUNITY
“Stop the Islamisation of Europe” and the
“English Defence League” a group of racist
football hooligans with links to the fascist
BNP are threatening to invade Harrow on
Sunday December 13th to demonstrate
against the Harrow Central Mosque. We
cannot stand by and let these racists attack
any section of our community. An injury
to one is an injury to all.

Islamophobia - bigotry against Muslims - is
as unacceptable as any other form of
racism. Its aim is to divide us by making
scapegoats of one community as the Nazis
did with the Jews in the 1930s. Today they
threaten the mosque, tomorrow it could be a
synagogue, temple or church. Today they
threaten Muslims, tomorrow it could be
Jews, Hindus, Sikhs, blacks, gays, travellers
or any other minority.

Fascists have been beaten before by
people standing united against them: at
Cable Street in the 1930s, Lewisham in the
1970s and in Derbyshire this Summer where
black and white, young and old, Hindu,
Christian, Muslim and Jew, gay and straight
all came together to oppose the BNP’s
fascist rally. In September we made it clear
that these thugs are not welcome in
Harrow. Now we must make Harrow a
No-Go Zone for Nazis.

Please sign the statement of support for Harrow Central Mosque
Join the demonstration on Sunday December 13th
We are black, white, Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Sikh and Jew
Assemble 12 noon Sunday December 13th on the wide pavement
outside Harrow Civic Centre opposite the Central Mosque

If you lot hadn't come out and 'bigged' this lot up they'd have gone by now. They were a knee-jerk reaction to what happened in Luton.

You've created an issue.

What are you saying here, that because people want to democratically oppose, islam, judasim,or any other "ethnic" religion then they are racist. I can`t think of one religion that is totally tolerant, especally to homosexuals. UAF are a security service led orginisation. One thing I can`t tolerate, that`s intolerance. And NO I`m not a troll, just an individual with an individual opinion. Come on with your diatribes.

It's true that all religion is bigoted dogmatic nonsense, but the EDL aren't just regular people wanting to 'democratically oppose, islam, judasim,or any other "ethnic" religion'. (whatever that means).

It's well documented that they have a far-right racist agenda and many links with the BNP and other fascist groups, even if some of their supporters don't realise this.

I have no love for religion but the EDL deserve to be confronted just because of who they are and what they stand for.

I suspect you are an EDL supporter posing as an anarchist, there are so many obvious blunders in your post that give it away.

Protesting against Islamic extremism is not racism

29.11.2009 16:50

What is the problem you people have got with people who want to protest against Islamic extremism and Islamic terrorism? Do you also think that muslims are stupid and can't tell the difference between a legitimate protest against Islamic extremism and one against Islam in general and would therefore be offended by such protests? Most muslims hate the extremist wing of Islam as much as the EDL.

"Stop the Islamisation of Europe" doesn't sound very opposed to 'islamic extremism/terrorism'. Sounds more like they just don't like muslims.

but then you knew that, didn't you?

Welsh BNP show their true racist colours

30.11.2009 17:52

We wish to bring to your readers attention that the community of Brent, and Wembley, is a peaceful, harmonious and united multi- cultural and multi-religious community. We totally abhor and condemn the racist and Islamaphobic statement put out by members of the fascist BNP from South Wales in their on line video.

The diversity of the Borough has enriched us all, with people from all backgrounds playing an important and essential contribution to all our daily lives as workers in various sectors delivering key public services, providing employment opportunities for many and supporting others throughout our communities.

Brent is proud of its long traditions of welcoming those who escaped from the horrors of Nazism and the Concentration Camps in the 30’s and 40’s. We recognize the important contribution to our NHS and public transport services by members of the Afro-Carribean communities. We are proud that we provided a place of safety for the Ugandan and Kenyan Asians and later on for many others escaping the ravages of war and destruction in Dharfur, Somalia and elsewhere.

The BNP fascists seek a scapegoat to blame others for the problems arising from the present day economic crises . Do not blame the weak and innocent. We say blame those who caused the crises not those who are its victims.

To seek a mythical Wembley of pure white aryians is nonsense. Wembley, like Brent, has a long standing record of Jews, Muslims, Hindhus, Christians, Buddhists, Gays, Women, trade unionists, young and old people playing a key part in our Borough, and long may it do so.

We will not allow the fascists and racists to divide us and they will be opposed where ever they are. That is why we will stand together with our Muslim brothers and sisters at Harrow Central Mosque on Dec 13th in solidarity with all against racism. We urge your readers to join us there and show their abhorrence at this latest insult to our community.

SIOE anti-Mosque protest organisers support Mass Murderers

01.12.2009 22:30

 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BDcQ6Qzyi4o

The Stop Islamisation of Europe campaign set-up by Stephen Gash and Anders Gravers has called another protest against Harrow Mosque for Dec 13, and SIOE claim they're are not extremists, not racists, and that SIOE oppose Fascism. When SIOE took over an earlier English Defence League protest against Harrow Mosque on Sept 11, the only support SIOE received came from protestors from the EDL and BNP. SIOE state that "SIOE encourages football supporters who oppose Islamic extremism to join the EDL and other Defence Leagues to campaign in their unique way" (1) - "unique way" meaning EDL was formed by football hooligans, people who define their lifestyle around a love of violence. EDL founders include known BNP activists, BNP publicity director Mark Collett praised Hitler and National Socialism, and EDL protestors gave Nazi salutes in Birmingham, Swansea, Manchester and Harrow. So, are SIOE extremists?

On the SIOE website, in an article called "Multiculturalism Is The Worst Idea That We Have Ever Had" (2) SIOE parrot the BNP party-line about what they see as the failure of multiculturalism, describing confrontations between a (quote) "Jewish friend" and Palestinian protestors as evidence of that alleged failure, without realising that the "Jewish friend" would not be able to practice his religion in the West were it not for the overall success of multiculturalism. SIOE are so desperate to smear multiculturalism that they even stoop to speculating that crimes of a Canadian serial-killer called Marc Lepine "could" (sic) "have been Islamic religious oriented". In fact there is no evidence of any religious motive in Lepine's crimes, and the only evidence of any connection between Lepine and Islam was his Christian mother's relationship with his non-practicing Muslim father. Lepine was baptized as a Catholic, but never received any religious instruction and grew up to be "a confirmed atheist" (3).

Most disgusting of all is an SIOE text called "The Extraordinary Rendition of Radovan Karadzic" (4). The SIOE website says that "SIOE support Serbian Kosovo", and says Serbian war crimes suspect Radovan Karadzic cannot receive a fair trial for allegedly butchering innocent Muslim and Croat men, women and CHILDREN in Sarajevo and Srebrenica (5) because "the history of Muslim oppression of Serbs during the Ottoman Empire and the fear of the return of such persecution will not be allowed in Karadzic's defence". SIOE's logic is as psychotic as it is delusional. All sides committed disgusting crimes in the Bosnian conflict and sensible people condemn them all, but responsibility for killing civilians cannot ever be mitigated or justified by any act those civilians weren't personally responsible for, or by any act carried out by an Empire that ceased to exist in 1923. During the Srebrenica massacre it's estimated over 7,500 people were killed (6). During the attack on Sarajevo it's estimated nearly 10,000 people were killed, including 1,500 children, and that 56,000 people were wounded, including 15,000 children (7).

Are the anti-Mosque demonstrators only protesting against Islamic extremism?

01.12.2009 23:01

Are the anti-Mosque demonstrators only protesting against Islamic extremism?

1. Harrow Mosque has no track record of (deliberately or inadvertently) hosting extremism - in fact the Imam has spoken out on TV against terrorism, the Mosque has a sizable Ismaili congregation (who no extremist Mosque would ever tolerate), a women's group, is involved with local Interfaith activities, and was publicly supported during the 1st protest by (among many others) local JEWISH councillor Jeremy Zeid -

2. The 1st protest against Harrow Mosque was called by the EDL, then re-scheduled and taken over by SIOE, but the protestors who turned out to support SIOE's protest were a handful of Nazis and BNP supporters (including "Daisyman One" from Tooting and a few Nazis who discussed their attendance on Stormfront), and a group who chanted "EDL, EDL, EDL" (some of who were photographed on other EDL demos). The EDL was co-founded by BNP activists Chris Renton and David Cooling, NF activist David Tull, a self-confessed former drug-dealer called Paul Ray (who openly expresses support for UVF murderer Johnny "Mad Dog" Adair) and a convicted football hooligan called Jeff Marsh, who was jailed for STABBING two Manchester United fans -

3. EDL work in close alliance with a website called Casuals United, which was set-up by Jeff Marsh, and which is encouraging EDL supporters to protest in Harrow. Casuals United organised "Welsh Defence League" demos in Swansea - where they chanted "BNP, BNP, BNP" and were shown in The Daily Mail giving Nazi salutes and burning an anti-Nazi flag, and in Wrexham - where the their demo was attended by skinheads Liam Pinkham and Mike Heaton from the openly Nazi "British Freedom Fighters" gang - who admitted on Stormfront that in the EDL Wrexham group they recognised supporters of the Nazi terror group Combat 18
