Get mobilising for the Aldermaston Blockade!

27.11.2009 16:44

Just two and a half months to go till the Aldermaston Blockade on 15 February 2010, so please start mobilising now if you haven't already done so. We need people to get themselves organised into autonomous affinity groups and to arrange their own nonviolent direct action training and transport to join the blockade of Britain's nuclear bomb factory in Berkshire by 7am. We can provide assistance and support where necessary.

As well as groups to blockade, we also need volunteers for various "non-arrestable" roles, such as drivers and gate support. Please get in touch for more details.

To find out more about the blockade, have a look at the detailed briefing pack now up on the Trident Ploughshares website:  http://www.tridentploughshares.org/article1577

Get arrested, relinquish your DNA, achieve Fuck all.....

year after year after year, and what exactly has your "non-violent" actions achieved?
I'll tell you, absolutely nothing except giving the state a DNA profile of thousands of lemmings....
Do you folks happen to work for the state seeing as you do there work!?

whats the point?

This is why we do it:

No More Hiroshimas or Nagasakis

DONT' Get arrested, DON'T relinquish your DNA, achieve Fuck all.....

I would advise anyone who does not want to risk getting arrested and relinquish their DNA to not take part in any political activity at all... well perhaps you might be able to write a letter to your MP.
Are any of those who criticise these "non-violent" actions organising or doing anything else? Perhaps if you do have some ideas you should go down and leaflet these people about your ideas about the way forward - if you have any.

Well I think its better doing nothing and achieving fuck all rather than giving the state my DNA details and achieving fuck all. Firstly can you tell me what exactly this have achieved over the years except providing the state with the details of thousands of wooly middleclass liberals, and at the same time making them feel better about themselves and no it has not prevented another nuclear war....

why do we bother doing anything?

Direct action- non violent or not, (lets not get into it hey- no time for rambling ) has always taken place and is an important part of our campaigning. Not the only part- but an important part.
Those dodgy lot already have my DNA and i dont give a shit- they wont stop me taking action against the madness. Id rather they didnt have it but they do , so thats that.

Being afraid of the state is what they want- hiding away and feeling uneffective is what they want. and im not one for giving them what they want.

What have we achieved-
the US nukes are no longer on UK soil
Trident replacement was debated in parliament - a first for nuclear weapons- with a large amount of MP's voting against ( not enough- and i dont think a lot of our political system- but thats another rant)
the initial gate was put back
most of the public are aware that the UK has nukes and that tthe uk wants to replace them- a couple of years ago most people who campaigned against nukes found that most people on the street thought we had got rid of our nukes after cold war- strange but true.

Just a little rant
- whay do we keep havin a go at each others activist tactics?????? are we not on the same side here?
- all this achives is spliting the movements and making us weaker.

making a change takes time- we may not see those changes in our life time- but I for one am not going to let the DNA taking state stop me giving it a bloody good try.

Thanks to those who work thier arses off for a sustainable future- i dont care about your tactics- im just glad your not all hiding away....

See ya at the wire........
