Palestine, Israel and the U.S. Empire

No Corps | 18.11.2009 17:25 | Anti-militarism | Globalisation | Palestine

It's no secret that Israel was created first at the behest of the British Empire and since as a colony/puppet of the U.S. Empire to be the M.E. "watchdog for the West" and its corporate interests(especially, of course, oil).

Read this expose confirming Israel's existence more as a colonial outpost for corporate exploitation of the M.E., especially its resources and Palestinian/Arab people as convenient slaves, than as the "Jewish homeland" we have been mislead to believe.

You're confusing some things, backwards

Let me try to put it very simply.

If you choose to do X because you want to do X and it turns out that X is very much to my benefit then you would scarcely say that "X was done because it was in his interests". What you have explained is why in these circumstances I wouldn't likelydo anything to hinder or stand in your way with your pursuit of your objectives. Might give you encouragement or even help. Why not? Benefits ME. Why if I wasn't recognizing that all by myself you'd probably want to point it out to me.

The "Zionists" made Israel come about because it was what THEY wanted to do, what THEY considered to be in their own interests. Who was hurt by that and who was helped by that not something they were particularly concerned about. If you are interested in the motivations of others who either hindered, helped, or just stood clear depending on how this development affected THEM, well and good. But really rather silly to try to tell us "the Zionists wanted this BECAUSE it was good for the British Empire" (or the American Empire or "corporate interests").
