17 RABBITS FREED FROM UNIVERSITY, IN MEMORY OF BARRY HORNE (Uruguay)

anonymous communique (translation):

"05-11-09 / 17 rabbits liberated from the Facultad de Veterinaria / Montevideo, Uruguay

Yesterday, in the early morning hours, we approached the Facultad de Veterinaria and after opening the screen that separates it from the street, we entered the premises. With the necessary tools in our hands and the desire for freedom in our mind, we were prepared for action. We opened a second screen and found ourselves inside this prison, this torture camp. We found 17 rabbits that would be used in the coming days as objects for experimentation by students complicit with the professors and university authorities.
The walls were marked with slogans that said 'vivisection = torture and death' and experiment on yourself' and 'Frente de Liberación Animal.'
We left the place quickly with the 17 rabbits who are now living in freedom far from the grips of supposed science.

We repeat:
Vivisection is torture and death!
Vivisectors should experiment on themselves!

In memory of Barry Horne and of all those who fight for animal liberation!!!!!

ANIMAL LIBERATION ALWAYS!"

CHICKENS, TURKEYS RESCUED BY POULTRY LIBERATION FRONT (UK)

anonymous report:

"October 2009

During the past month, the Poultry Liberation Front have been busy in the South of England, with liberations of turkeys and chickens.

On separate occassions, 33 turkeys, 100 chickhens and another 30 turkeys have been rehomed from dark, stinking sheds of the intensive poultry industry. We will continue to visit farms whenever we want and rehome those imprisoned there, until all are free from the suffering and genocide that continues in a speciesist human world, devoid of compassion and guilt.

These beautiful individuals have now been rehomed into life-long compassionate homes. To live out their lives with dignity, away from their cruel exploiters.

TRUCK BURNED AT RODEO, SHOW CANCELED (Mexico)

received anonymously (translation):

"Hoax bomb used to target a rodeo in mexico city

During the evening of Saturday, October 31, we, from the cell against animal domination (F.L.A-C.C.D.A), armed with an incendiary device and a fake bomb, went to a rodeo which was set to happen in the contreras borough. This show brings with it animal pain and suffering for bulls. Upon reaching the location, we noticed that this action would be relatively easy since there was no light or security, so we moved into action right in front of the noses of the damned anthropocentric people who were there. An incendiary device was placed in a tire of a truck belonging to civil protection and a message was left in it warning that more devices had been left elsewhere on the property; among these devices a bomb was found which was placed between a trailer that transported equipment used in the ring. The truck burned where we placed the incendiary device and the 'show' was cancelled in order to search for the other devices.

We want to make it clear that the 'bomb' was a hoax because we do not want to injure other animals, human or nonhuman.

We will not give the exploiters any rest; they do not sleep peacefully now

We will not let the flame be extinguished which is beginning to intensify with the attacks of recent months

RABBIT FREED FROM SMALL CAGE (Mexico)

received anonymously (translation):

"Rabbit liberation, Mexico City

On Friday, October 30, the cell of the R.V.N decided to take action again. This time we did not carry out a sabotage, instead we returned freedom to a rabbit who was kept locked-up in a small cage which was no more than 30 centimeters and who now has happily found freedom with a lot of room to run and to live with other animals. The rabbit had belonged to a disgusting anthropocentrist who thinks that animals are nothing more than objects which we can dispose of at whim, and only saw him as a simple 'pet' -- but he is a being who should be free like all others.

We will not negotiate. We will continue carrying out actions until we see all animals, human and nonhuman, free as they should be. And we will continue attacking everything that involves animal pain and suffering because no action is small, no action is more than another. The animals do not care how you support them, they do not judge you as human animals do; to them, the only thing that is important is their freedom and the best way to free them is to stop talking and start acting.

Animal liberation now

Direct action against any kind of domestication

one pet rabbit released in mexico. wow!

all the important news here on indymedia as it happens.
and as for all this anthropocentric and speceisist nonsense you spout. you are all spieceisists yourselves! let me explain.
when I can, i shoot rabbits here on my smallholding. i do this: because they destroy my vegetable garden and so are a nuisance to me, because there is no shortage of them, because they are not native to this country, because they are a very sustainable source of food protein for me - far more so than your ex rain forest grown soya beans etc - and because i can. no doubt at this point you are all in a rage and accusing me of being a mass murdering speciesist etc. now suppose i was to go for a wander in the canadian wilderness and i became lunch for a grizzly bear there because i don't have the survival skills of ray mears for that eco-system. it would kill and eat me because it can and because it needs the protein to sustain itself even though i am not its normal prey. no doubt you will support the bear eating me because it can through its superior hunting skills and strength and because i am a rabbit murdering anthropocentric but you will condemn me for eating rabbits because i can by way of my superior hunting skills and strength. so you would judge me with one set of rules but not judge the bear in the same way? sounds exactly like anthropocentric and speceisist behaviour to me. what do you think?

since the recent report suggesting that the raising of animals for consumption contributes to over 50% of greenhouse gas emissions globally, there are now really really compelling reasons to go vegan. but fanatical actions and mad ramblings like your rant above just continues to give veganism a bad name and crank image and so alienates most people. you really need to look at yourselves the way others do. believe me you would convert so many more people to veganism if you were to concentrate your campaigning on the climate change tack rather than keeping with the murdering bastards accusations. think about it.

be vewy vewy quiet, I'm hunting wabbits

Does that mean that if I saw you out on the town on a saturday night, I could kill you?

I mean, I need protein after a night on the beer, and you clearly wouldn't have the survival skills.

Sounds fair enough to me...

Also why on earth would we need to concentrate on climate change? So the middle classes can feel better about turning (faux)-vegan? Hardly - the primary reason anyone should become vegan is to end speciesism; anything else is secondary.

@ntispe

says it all about your (senti)mentality

"the primary reason anyone should become vegan is to end speciesism; anything else is secondary"
ye gods. so your sentimentality about animals is more important than climate change? have you even the slightest idea what worst case runaway climate change will result in? the decimation of the majority of species on earth. mass extinction. trillions of cuddly animals dying slowly and very painfully as a result of starvation and darwinism. you are a climate change denier and therefore such a hopeless case that you are not even worth trying to discuss such issues as climate change with as you are just so completely blinded to reason by your hatred of "speceisists". and fortunately there are murder laws in place to prevent your topping me on a saturday night scenario.

"Murder laws" don't prevent you being killed. They would (possibly) result in a prison sentence. Certainly not prevention.

Blinded to reason? LOL! Capitalism is the driving force behind climate change - (just) becoming vegan will make very, very little in the grand scheme of things. A complete overhaul of the system we live in will be needed, not a few of the middle-classes turning vegan and patting each other on the back.

An end to speciesism is clearly the primary reason to turn vegan, just as anti-fascism is the main reason for the Israeli state to stop murdering palestinians - not the (tiny) benefit to the environment that comes from it.

Climate change denier, oh my. Ye gaia, get back to the daily mail...
