Mass Deportation, Mass Resistance - 7th Nov - Reminder & Venue Change

With the aim of building a UK-wide network to resist and campaign against mass deportations, the Stop Deportation Network is organising a one-day forum under the title "Mass deportations, Mass resistance" this Saturday, 7th November 2009.

The event will be held in Room V221 at the Vernon Square Campus of the School of Oriental and African Studies (Penton Rise, WC1X 9EW), close to King's Cross (map).

The event will run from 12-5pm. The day will combine plenary and participatory sessions to will explore legal and political challenges to mass deportation flights, as well as strategies and tactics of campaigning and taking actions against this relatively new development that allows the government to increase the rate of deportations of people who have fallen foul of its increasingly cynical immigration policy.

Come for registration and refreshments from 11:30am onwards.
