Migration has always been present in human history. Currently, European governments are developing more rigorous and forceful immigration controls. Join us to explore this ‘Fortress Europe’, to look at the impact on people who migrate and what we can do about it.
Without Borders
A day of film, skill sharing and discussion on migration, borders and freedom of movement.

Workshop – Solidarity with Asylum Seekers & Practical support; the Unity Centre’s work and how you can get involved.
Workshop – Debunking Myths
Considering common perceptions of migration and asylum seeking and how to have useful discussions with people around these issues. With useful facts and statistics and discussion of how to answer common difficult questions
1-2pm Lunch – provided
2.30-4pm
Workshop – History of Borders and Resistance
Workshop – Detainee Voices
5pm Film – ‘The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada’
Come along for the whole day, or just drop in for one session. The workshops will be interactive and followed by discussions.
Throughout the day there will also be banner-making, flag-making (for the Bike Ride on 25 October) and a flea market.
