Very silly.

The real problem is not the vaccine (big clue - vaccination has worked since 1796, the principle is simple and well understood) but the big pharmaceutical companies making quantities of vaccine (big clue - first Influenza vaccine was manufactured in 1945, it is not something they can knock out once and store) because diseases change over time.
Get a bloody education.

As for Swine Flu Skanking for real, man with a dog has pointed out that "Gosh! They managed to find a cure so quickly..like before it happened!" But that's just his opinion, LOL.
For a really funny vid [and a really cute piglet pic aaww] have a look at the Swine Flu Skankers on http://www.myspace.com/stopcamdenanimallab...they know what's going on...
Then again, the very real threat of virus leaks from the proposed Camden Lab is no joke and Foot and Mouth disease decimated the countryside with thousands of animals including "farm" animals who were pets being forced to queue up to be shot by soldiers before being burnt in huge pyres across Britain. Ugly. Such a leak in central London would be a disaster and coul;d lead to quarantine of people and pets across London and maybe even across Europe with the lab site so close to the Channel Tunnel.
The same industry who are warning us all to "Catch It. Bin It. Kill It." in a major advertising campaign that has scared people across the World have accused community campaigners in Camden of "scaremongering" over the lab.

Vaccination is a Crime
02.10.2009 22:06
It's coming to a town near you soon, protest now, before it happens.
Jenner extracted pus from poxed cows and injected it into humans to make them immune to small pox, it only made the symptoms more severe. Vaccines, which cause the immune system to attack the body, are responsible for everything from cot-death to cancer.
1 in 100 children have autism and 1 in 5 have eczema... that is the real pandemic!!
"Vaccination is a gigantic delusion... it has never saved a single life; but that it has been the cause of so much disease, so many deaths, such a vast amount of utterly needless and altogether undeserved suffering, that it will be classed by the coming generation among the greatest errors of an ignorant and prejudiced age, and it's penal enforcement the foulest blot on the generally beneficent course of legislation during our century."

Florence Nightingale 1879
"Dr. Guy, in a celebrated paper published by the Royal Statistical Society, says: "Is vaccination a preventive of small-pox? To this question there is, there can be, no answer except such as is couched in the language of figures." The language of figures is "Statistics"; hence, statisticians, not doctors, are the only good judges of this question."
Alfred Russell Wallace 1904
"In 1796 more than 4,000 per million died of small-pox in London, while in the next year there were only about 800, and the following year (1798) over 3,000. Again, in 1870 less than 100 per million died of it, while in 1871 there were about 300, and in 1872 about 2,500."
Alfred Russell Wallace 1904
"In 1967, when WHO launched an intensified plan to eradicate smallpox, the "ancient scourge" threatened 60% of the world's population, killed every fourth victim, scarred or blinded most survivors, and eluded any form of treatment.
Through the success of the global eradication campaign, smallpox was finally pushed back to the horn of Africa and then to a single last natural case, which occurred in Somalia in 1977. A fatal laboratory-acquired case occurred in the United Kingdom in 1978. The global eradication of smallpox was certified, based on intense verification activities in countries, by a commission of eminent scientists in December 1979 and subsequently endorsed by the World Health Assembly in 1980."

Anybody can pick up a few quotes to stir up hysteria. Anybody can import medical opinions from the US. Anybody can pretend medicine does not work. The truth is nothing to do with vaccination but with the failure of the US Health care system. It is collapsing under the weight of insurance. it costs £21,000 a year (on average) to be registered with Healthcare Insurance in the US. It costs £2,000 a year (on average) to be registered with the NHS.
Because of the low levels of vaccination in the US, they spend Billions on drugs to mask the symptoms - rather than getting a cure. Because it would cost an American to get vaccinated. Truth is they cannot afford it. Most Americans are living in poverty.
Historically, Florence Nightingale was against vaccination because the Government of the day took money off her "hygiene and cleanliness" program and placed it into vaccination. her opinions were skewed by the fact that "hygience and cleanliness" do actually contribute to improved public health. But they do not cure diseases. They manage disease. She was the first Hospital Manager.
In 1890, Wallace gave evidence before a Royal Commission investigating the controversy. The commission examined the material he had submitted to support his testimony. There were errors, including some questionable statistics. Wallace and the other anti-vaccination activists were selective in their choice of statistics, ignoring large quantities of data inconsistent with their position. The commission found that smallpox vaccination was effective. It remained compulsory, The Commission did recommend some changes in procedures to improve safety. The penalties for people who refused to comply be made less severe - which made the anti-vaccination movements arguments fade away. Eight years later Wallace wrote a pamphlet attacking the commission’s findings - it contained many of the same errors as his evidence given to the commission.
Vaccination is a great way to stir up hysteria and it always has been. Jenner proposed it after observation and experimentation. The metrics mania of Wallace was not around to propagate lies about if vaccination does or does not work. Look up some of those big scientific words and you find that the drug company is attempting to cover itself. It reports every single side effect that occurs in one or more persons during drug trials and throught the yellow card system. Journalists are mercifully free of having to actually understand how science is done - so they can make simplistic statements such as - this has ten side effects that has twenty therfore that is more bad than this.
In the UK, the MMR vaccine was the subject of controversy after publication in The Lancet of a 1998 paper by Andrew Wakefield, et al., reporting a study of 12 children mostly with autism spectrum disorders with onset soon after administration of the vaccine.
During a 1998 press conference, Wakefield suggested that giving children the vaccines in three separate doses would be safer than a single vaccination. This suggestion was not supported by the paper, and several subsequent peer-reviewed studies have failed to show any association between the vaccine and autism.
It later emerged that Wakefield had received funding from litigants against vaccine manufacturers and that Wakefield had not informed colleagues or medical authorities of his conflict of interest. In 2009 The Sunday Times reported that Wakefield had manipulated patient data and misreported results in his 1998 paper, creating the appearance of a link with autism.
Which is all good scandal and bad science.

Police support demonstrators at anti mandatory Swine Flu vaccination demo today
03.10.2009 15:43
When a group of protestors asked police officers if they would enforce mass arrests in the case of mass civil disobediance regarding mandatory Swine Flu vaccinations showed support for the families and individuals at the demo.
Police Officer Robert Perry when asked "Would you and you peers agree to mass arrest us if it came to it?" replied "No, I wouldn't. I'd leave first and I think that goes for most of my colleagues. I think that the police should be more independent of the government especially in cases like this where there is a danger of a government becoming a dicatorship over something like this".
An officer who can remain nameless has said "Someone should get hold of whoever thought this up {Mandatory Swine flu vaccinations] and cut his head off".
Couldn't agree more....
It makes a change for the police to be on the side of protesters and it shows just how strongly many people feel about this.
Most of the demonstators were families. Animal Rights were represented by Veggies of Nottingham who provided yummy vegan food for everyone throughout the demo.

Seriously, there are about a billion demonstrations in London every day. Are you suggesting people should attend all of them otherwise they don't care about the other issues? People generally pick one or two issues they are particularly drawn to and focus on them. That doesn't mean they don't care about the others, just that there are only so many hours in the day. FFS.
Regarding vaccination, I would tend to avoid it just because I hate pharmaceuticals and know how much they lie to make a profit.
But I can still see how vaccination can be useful in theory. It's quite a simple mechanism: your own body produces antibodies automatically to fight off diseases. So by giving someone a mild or neutered form of the disease it tricks the body into producing more of these antibodies. And they hang around, which means if you contract the disease later on, you have a headstart in fighting it off.
That's why once you have had a disease like measles or chickenpox once, you are unlikely to get it again - your blood already has the antibodies in it.

As for "no AR people came because they went on a Foie Gras demo instead" ...Veggies were there, I was there and so were a number of other people whose names I forget [ ; ) ] and I agree there ARE loads of demos every weekend in London....it ALL matters and it all makes a difference.

Good news for the youth on the Regents Park and somers Toowm estates which have been affected by the lab plans. Two new starte of the art youth centers are being built.
The Samuel Lithgow on the Regents Park estate is being renovated after local people[especially Addison Lee, a cab / courier company based from the estate] raised an amazing one million pounds! The New Horizons youth center on the Somers Town estate is also being renovated...this provides help for some of Camden's most vulnerable youth. What I'm asking is that if some of you Aniaml Rights people are able to is to show some love and send donations for these costly projects [directly to them please, not via us] as the young people here have supported the camapign against the deadly pathogen / cruel animal lab and deserve some support in return. Thanks.
