Are the people organizing this aware that Brian Gerrish has spoken at BNP meetings? Also check out his paper the 'UK Column' for the kind of reactionary [& downright bizarre] ideas he goes in for. I'm not a big believer in most of the conspiracy stuff but ti doesn't usually bother me too much if other people want to discuss it. However, I'm assuming most people involved with this Truth Festival would consider themselves left wing or progressive in some way so ask yourselves do you really want to be promoting someone who's sympathies are so obviously with the hard right? Will people attending the talk get the chance to ask him any tough questions?

I have had nothing to do with the organisation of this gig, Chris, though I'm friends with people who do
My own personal feeling is that the biggest threat facing us here at the moment is the H1N1 vaccine. That's the biggest threat from reading the official attitudes, which if correct will have dire economic effects and lead to the big tyrannous crackdown as hyperinflation derives from economic stasis. The months ahead, if sufficient idiots queue for the vaccines are indeed dire
Gerrish- I know his right-wingish origins - but he's completely correct about the officious ,health and safety, jobsworth, bureaucratic,fining authority, fuck up, intrusion into your own personal life and habits, the desire of the state to take your children from you, those two copper mothers job and child sharing, this whole state intervention from local organisations. If opposing all this crapitude means I'm right wing as I've been accused a few times on here, then so be it
I'll be doing a stall at this event so if any indies want to roll up and discuss issues, then be my guest
BTW Chris, what happened to the Leeds/Bradford Indy? Do you want me to take over the role? Be happy to:-)
