Protest at Border Agency offices in Derby

Calais Migrant Solidarity | 24.09.2009 07:22 | Migration | Repression | Social Struggles

As part of a growing number of solidarity actions with the oppression of migrants in Calais there will be a demonstration on Monday morning at the Border Agency offices in Derby.

Either meet at 9am at the Sumac Centre or at Derby bus station at 10am. From there we'll make our way to the B.A offices on Green Lane. Show your solidarity with those in Calais and all those who are trying to move freely across the borders and are oppressed by international and state authority.

err...there is no bus station in Derby, it's being built so suggest meet in Derby at 10 outside the Council House. (which is where the buses from Nottingham stop)

its close. But can I suggest the square nearby where we had the G8 protests which is also nearby. I would like to go, especially if theres clearer info that we are for refugees & against criminals like Dr Mengele, Rwanda-Sudan genociders , people like UVF& CIRA mass murders from any country need locking up. No borders propaganda has too many holes in it sometimes.
No doubt 99% of the people in Calais are genuine refugees & need our support, but Ive just been some refugee demos where the message to people is very unclear.
Thanks

New meet-up point

As pointed here, the bus station is still being built in Derby, owing to the "credit crunch", so there's a new meeting point right in the City Centre: Duckworth Square at 9.00 a.m.
