Support community radio, sign the petition - four days to go!

Audiophile | 21.09.2009 14:16 | Culture | Technology | Sheffield

I write with regard to community radio funding and to call on your urgent support to help achieve a better settlement for the sector from Government.

On 20 July this year 60 community radio stations launched an appeal to the Prime Minister for a fair funding settlement for community radio to mark five years since community radio legislation was introduced.

We have already achieved more than 3000 signatures but there four days to go and we need to make a final push before the petition closes on Thursday 24 September. More details here:

Community radio makes a vital contribution to the cultural landscape of the UK, and our sector supports innovative and experimental programming from stations such as Resonance FM in London, Soundart Radio in Devon, ALLFM in Manchester, and SheffieldLive as well as many others.

Please pledge to sing the petition and forward this message as soon as possible to other potential supporters to help secure a future for community broadcasting in the UK:
