For the two days of direct action in solidarity with squats and autonomous spaces ( http://squatmeet09.wordpress.com/), during the 19 to 20 september's night, around ten estate agent's offices in Grenoble (including "Actis" City office) have been "closed" with their lock glued. Their walls have been spray-painted (some bailiff's offices too).
Two slogans have been spray-painted several times:
"Landlords and estate agents rip us off, let's counter-attack!"
and
"Crisis or not, rent strike!"
As long as landlords, estate agents and bailiffs are doing money on us, we'll have to counter-attack.
In Grenoble like everywhere else, police is evicting people, tenants or squatters.
In Grenoble like everywhere else, the City and property developpers destroy lower-class areas to make bigger upper-class city-centres.
The actions we made that night are dedicated to everyone that fight against private property's arrogance.
Solidarity with Grenoble's squatters, but also with Calais' squatters where more and more often immigrants squats are being searched and evicted by the police, with Montreuil's squatters (Paris suburb) where this summer the cops injured several squatters, with greek squatters where some squats have been attacked by fascists during the summer, with Prague's squatters where Milada's squat has been evicted at the end of june and same for a new squat one week ago, with algerian squatters where squatting is more and more lived as a solution to housing problems, with Sao Paulo's squatters (in Brazil) where a few weeks ago favelas' inhabitants have rioted against evictions made by the cops, with Bristol's squatters who have called to international solidarity... And, of course, solidarity with all those who fight, around the world, to make an end to private property!
