Brian Peebles, world famous Noam Chomsky impersonator, has thrown his support behind campaigners calling for an end to the illegal occupation of Western Sahara by Morocco. On Tuesday Peebles, from Langton Matravers Dorset, made a Chomsky-esque speech about the political situation in the former Spanish colony. After a half-hour soft-spoken address Peebles posed for photographers and signed autographs.

Peebles who has been runner-up three times in the World Chomsky Impersonator Championships admits that he hadn't heard much about the Western Sahara since the early 1990's after the ceasefire was agreed.

"I was surprised to hear that the Saharawi's are still living in refugee camps in the desert" said Peebles. "To be honest didn't know much about the political situation out there but as with any cause that I'm asked to impersonate Chomsky for, I did some research and was shocked by what I found".

(Peebles will be impersonating Chomsky talking about language aquisition in Bovingdon Town Hall this Saturday)
