Sanofi Order

08.09.2009 20:21

The injunction (court order) applies to all and any activists that are campaigning against Sanofi about their ties with HLS.

However it only applies to the area outside Sanofi's buildings and not to the country as a whole - as you've said, you (in theory) have freedom of speech in public spaces. Basically, the order will not affect your demonstrating in the city centre. Personally, I would do just a general SHAC information stall/activity or a general one about vivisection as a whole in the city centre as I don't know how much effect a demo against Sanofi will have there.

On a separate note - Sanofi in the past have said unofficially to a few of us who were protesting against them that they have severed their ties with HLS but can't say so publicly as companies in the vivisection industry are expected to show support and solidarity for eachother.

Obviously, this may well be bullshit but if anyone is able to find out if there's any truth behind this, that would much appreciated.

Until they give SHAC a statement to say that their ties are severed, there should be no rest for them...

Have a good demo. (I'll email NewcastleAR my number so you can call me if there are any problems with the police or you need any advice in general about the demo)

Good luck with your protest! If you have any injunction problems just do the demo outside of the exclusion zone, and then you don't have to abide by any of its restrictions.

I hope it goes well!
