Disarm Dsei blocked from entering the City

Disarm Dsei | 08.09.2009 14:16

Today at 12noon about 150 Disarm Dsei protesters converged outside the Royal Bank of Scotland building in Aldgate East. They were almost immediatly surrounded by several dozen police and prevented from leaving the area. They were told they would not be allowed to enter the City and would have to leave the area within an hour.

After being penned in for an hour they were slowly let out one by one, each protester being told they would not be allowed to enter the City and must travel eastwards away from the City. A police cordon prevented any protesters from heading towards the City and eventually the small group of protesters were forcibly marched for about one mile eastwards to Stepney Green tube before being allowed to disperse.
