Climate camp Blackheath site now returned to how it was.

Just so any nimby hippy haters can't accuse us of leaving the wonderful Blackheath site as a shit heap, here's the proof that climate activists respect their sites and don't leave them looking like the average festival.

How it was when we were there.
How it was when we were there.

Thanks to the amazing efforts over 3 days of a too small but very hardworking team of site de-tatters, Blackheath now looks pretty much like how it was when we arrived. It's true that some bits of grass are looking rather bruised and brown where up to 10,000 visitors stomped over it but a good fall of rain will restore the greenness after just a week or so. I wandered the site for about half an hour but couldn't locate where any of the grey water pits had been dug and I collected so few small scraps of litter that I could easily carry it away in my hands without needing a bag. A passer-by asked me "What happened to all the people in tents then?"

"All gone." I replied.

"Oh, that was quick."

Compare this to say Glastonbury where the spoilt consumer-headed brats that now infest that event abandon 26,000 tents that have to then be landfilled because they're too bone-idle to pack and take them away with them.

Well done to all. And remember that much of the clearing up was done in horizontal rain. By the way, all the remaining wood has also now been cleared and the industrial wheely bins are gone too.

Thank you Bear and the other 'middle class idiots' for walking the talk and tatting down and leaving the site as it was.

Mucho appreciated
