e.on coal plant in Datteln stopped by court

e.on, the company trying to build a new coal fired plant in Kingsnorth, has problems with the construction of a coal plant in Datteln/Germany. A court ruled that the construction has to stop.

e.on, widely known in the UK for building the first coal fired power station for ages in Kingsnorth, also tries to build new coal fired power plants in other countries.

One of them in the german small city Datteln now has to stop. A local farmer sued e.on for the construction. The court ruled now that the approval for the plant construction is flawed and the construction has to stopp. e.on is building the plant since 2007 and wanted to produce electricity starting 2011.
