To the cops

ghgjhkjk | 24.08.2009 14:23

I wrote this after the IPCC report a few weeks ago...

what I would like to say to the IPCC, the police, and the whole "system".

You killed Ian Tomlinson, what a fucking surprise! Who is Ian Tomlinson? do you care who he was? Was he a protester? was he a random guy? I didn't know him, all I know for sure about him is that he was killed by you.

When was the last time "violent protestors" killed someone? probably the BNP did kill some people, but not "us lot". You keep on saying we're just violent thugs, but how would you do it if you were us?

You kill people all the time, I know this is supposed to be about Mr Tomlinson, but it never really was about him, you just started talking about it because you've killed him. And what is "it"? Is "it" the police state? is "it" the fact that your so called "law and order" is lethal? is "It" the fact that you prosecute us and not the people who kill us? that you arrest some idealistic teenager instead of arresting politicians? that we have to take it to the streets to show you what your laws do to us? Do you honestly think that we're doing it because we're violent thugs who can't think so they resort to violence? we exhausted every avenue of action and resorted to insane stunts to make you even begin to react. And you are the ones who ALWAYS resorted to violence as a first option.

Ian Tomlinson hey, in the closing of 2008, a kid was killed by you in Greece, you know what they did? do you know how much angrier people get? but you don't connect the dots, you honestly do not see the parallels between the cop who shot de Menezes and the solider who shot the Palestinian activist last week? do you not understand that by holding what you call "public order", you allow them, those people YOU DON'T ARREST to continue, continue making you kill us. There isn't a simple solution. it's not about "ketteling", and about the "hidden IDs", it's not about you stopping and searching us all of the time, it's about all of these and more, about how you use "terrorism" as a new-speak for "thought crime", that you keep us nice and scared because in reality you are scared of "us", and "them" too. You are scared that maybe some of our ideas are the only possible solutions to the problems you've created. You keep accusing us of just knowing where we're against, but deep inside you know you are wrong, and you all know in your heart what we're all about.

It's about the fact that you get to use violence whenever you are enforcing their unjust laws, that you deport migrants to their deaths, that you send people to prison for absolutely nothing and anything, that whenever we stand out against you you send us down, that you are going to lock down those people who "smashed EDO" even though all they did was make this world have a tiny tiny bit less weapons in it, or those people who stand out against your nuclear weapons, or those people who cannot live with themselves if they would not resist the destruction of our environment, those people, just people, those community organizations, those squatters you evict all the time.

Don't you see that all you do is enforce those unjust laws? the laws that always put property rights over personal freedoms, that perceive us as consumers of things and movers of wealth, and not as complete human beings with all that is entailed, we do not accept that you are there for our protection no matter how many times the message in the tube station will declare it, we are not happy living under your "supervising" eyes day and night, we are not happy about being cataloged in your data bases, or being made to carry IDs, we are not your subjects by virtue. yes we break laws, all of the time and will continue as long as there are unjust or unfair laws, and as long as there is you to enforce those.

The solider in Sri-Lanka killing people does not reflect on the solider in Israel and how he might feel, or the TSG cop and how an officer might feel, he just follows orders and he runs on the power kick that gives him, to know that he does not need to question his position and just can act. you are no different. and what a kick it is, we see it in your eyes, that empowering feeling, you know you can beat us and get away with most of everything, because we're violent! like a rage, like our rage, but directed back at us.

But deep inside you would like to turn your buttons at them, at those people who make your life so mundane, so monotonous, or that makes you feel powerless. you want to use your buttons to show them how dissatisfied you are with their so called happiness. how you would like to stop impoverished kids from crime but instead are made to arrest them, to fight them.

Or how you would like those refugees to feel and be safe but instead are made to deport them because the bureaucracy does not approve of them. How you think everyone should live where he is pleased, but are made to take their freedom away even though you see you are just taking your own freedoms away as well.

About how you arrest a hungry person because he dared to steal, to steal from a supermarket who stole his food to begin with, that you only value someone for his ability to generate money, that you will respond to a call from a rich person much quicker then a poor persons. You do these because you are made to treasure the rights of property, well above the rights of human beings, and their well being.

So you killed Ian Tomlinson, yes, but you killed many more too by participating, and you are making every participant in this system kill, and have perpetuate this very violent cycle, the so called "system", be it from an executive desk signing some business deal, or a doctor using medicines that were made poisoning the ocean, the guy in the coffee shop who is participating in ripping coffee growers up, only to be able to pay rent. we are all part of what we are trying to stop, now here's the tricky bit, we'd like to stop all of those if possible, without violence as such, without killing anyone if we can, yet you continue to kill and control us, to make it impossible for any one of us to be a real participate in this, and instead you make us all criminals, murderers, accomplices to your system. and we, we don't have a solution, we have no one reference book that can tell you how it all should be, but neither do you, and each one of your methods is a billion times worst then any of our solutions can possibly turn out. The reason no one will tell you what anarchism is about is because it is the belief that we should organize differently in each place, according to the needs and wishes of it's participants and not in order to maintain some irrelevant structure, that is "the state" that is the hierarchy. It has been shown time and again that communities can organize on ground level, that people can find the ways to live that suits them, and make their own laws if they wish, they can appoint their own local leaders if that's what they want, and in fact, most people will probably say that being part of a small autonomous community is much better then being a cog in a massive machine.

And you just have to stop with all this terror spin, we simply do not believe you anymore, we refuse to live in fear, and we refuse to be victims of the circumstances you've created, time after time in raid after raid, everything is a reason to suspect a terrorist and a terrorist is anyone. we did not go around the world fucking people up, you did and are doing it all the time, we have not quibbles with the "Muslims" you do! we are not enemies of different freedom fighters around the world, we are those "freedom fighters", who are simply people you've left no other choice, we are the people you've stopped from preventing wars, we're the people you've beaten when we've tried to stop hunger, we're the people you've arrested when we've tried to protect our environment, or stood up to some injustice. and believe you me, all of us understand why people want to blow themselves up in the streets. we understand their frustration, the anguish that humanity is inflicting on itself, that you make us inflict on others, that others are made to inflict on us. you want to make it a better world? you know what needs to be done. you know we can make it happen together, and you know that in reality we are people before we are tools, that we need to empower ourselves above the bases of power if we are to build a humanity centered society. and you know what, you will be better off, and even the politicians will be better of if they have less control over us. we fought for democracy before, we fought for feminism, we fought for all sorts of human rights, we fought for communist dreams (Which you've made into nightmares), we fought for animals and for trees, for the air and the water rights, and you've always been there to stop us, always, in every human struggle you end up screwing up, what do you honestly expect us to write to our MPs and tell them we want, what? world peace? end to starvation? independence from the state? that we wish to stop this crazy machine of yours and revert the course of the so called "development of humanity" in a way that would actually make things better and not just try and sell us ideas of happiness.

You think you have a dissent proof system, but all you have is a circular argument about the amount of rights we have, all but the right to change our environment, to participate meaningfully in our own lives and not just be observers in the narrow context you make us choose from, we deserve to be able to effectively participate and not just force feed the opinions you broadcast and accept a state of chaotic "normality".

There is so much more I would like to tell you, I would like to explain to you some of the many ideas we have to make this a better place, some of our "alternative systems", our different alternatives to your singular world bureaucracy, or what ever you call it, different economies and ways to sustain our existence, I would like to explain to you our hopes and dreams, and why we are willing to fight for them, why they make you kill us because of them, because our ideas scare people who are too comfortable now, even though they know that it's only because they've got accustomed into this conformity, are just scared of the change that they know is both necessary and wanted, that will make our lives exponentially better, and for all of us.

I would like to tell you so much more, but this is about Ian Tomlinson, the guy you've killed. the one off accident that got on tape. like that one Palestinian caught on tape the other day, or that one Buddhist monk in Tibet, or that one Tamil guy, or that one Somali guy, or that one Irish guy, or that one kid in Greece, that Vietnamese person who dared to stand up against you, or that Korean student, it's just separate unrelated rare incidents, it is not part of a greater problem, do you ever consider that you too are part of the problem, and that at some point you too will have to join people who struggle for humanities virtues and break some laws in the process?

You don't have to be our enemies, join us and help part-take in writing our destination, everyone has the right to do so, we all deserve to leave a stamp on the world. we all have ideas about how things can be better, and these ideas can only be practiced in a way that will let everyone a chance to be part of the "greater whole", that means the kids that died while you were reading this in Africa, and the animals that you are slaughtering in your industrial slaughter houses. we all deserve a fair chance for life, we all have ideas that incorporated could solve all of the problems and any we'll ever have, that could allow us to reach the full potential of our amazing specie, to explore new levels of conscientious. allow us to experiment with ways of doing things, with our ways of living, and slowly these will devour your machine, they will make your laws irrelevant, they will eliminate unnecessary work and allow us maximum time for chasing our personal ambitions, our ideas, our arts, our crafts, our imaginations, and our inventions, you will see there are better ways to live, and we will find and prefect them.

So Ian, poor guy hey, why did you kill him? I wish I could feel sad for his family i really do, but I've seen so many people dying from you, that the only significance he has is that he was in a demonstration, he is no different to any one else you've killed, raped, maimed, tortured, enslaved, or bored to death. I just wish he'd be the last one! And to the cop who killed him, I'd just like to say, you're a scum, but you are no more scum then any of the crazy violent cops who attack us at any one of those "confrontations", they are all sadists who really like to use their buttons to get some steam out, we all know this feeling, but cops were a lot more violent then you, you were just unlucky enough to hit someone in his 50s with a weak heart. the amount of head injuries you inflict on my friends, the control through force and fear, using dogs to bite us and horses to chase us. we are not the violent ones, we're just really really passionate! I hope you will join us, all of you, I wish you'd help us next time around, that you will say bollocks to maintaining "public order", bollocks to protecting criminals of the high order, and the criminals that make the laws, bollocks for their banks which enforce their money. bollocks to their ideas of happiness and their commercialization of everything.

jeez louise

24.08.2009 15:14

will you shut up...

what a load of pish. The police perform a structural function, criticising them, rather than understanding that function and the need to make it no longer necessary, is a waste of time.

like I've waster reading your nonsens and replying to it.

And your point is?

24.08.2009 16:26

You are full of your own self-importance aren't you? You sent this to the IPCC? Should you not have submitted it with the rest of your GCSE coursework instead? Extremely weak.

I could've used this time to cut my toenails

24.08.2009 21:19

But for some reason i read this ranting of a mad person

The amount of time you spent writing this you could of done some work then you wouldn't have to steal food from a supermarket. etc etc. And don't give that shite about there being no jobs. Theres plenty of jobs and you dont even need a job to make money. I do loads of creative stuff and sell it. Not exactly rocket science and people like what i do so i aint harming anyone. All that is required is to get off your backside and actually do it or try at least rather than moaning about how life isnt on a plate with a silver spoon

The police actually do a lot more than just rounding up moaning anarchists. Picking out single instances is like picking out single instances of anything. Lets tar everything with the same brush - thats fair........... idiot

Well done

24.08.2009 21:58

Unlike the other critics of this piece who are probably police hiding behind screen names anyway I support what has been said. I know from personal experience of the local police here what bullying cowardly beasts they are if you are ever in Brighton becareful where you drink and stay away from a blue painted haven for bent coppers in norfolk square - yes i support, I hold the police in contempt - well done and respects to the writer of this piece

George

Not demos!

25.08.2009 09:02

I second George on his comment.

The writer speaks the truth. The police are a political, geriatric organisation paid by the government to keep control of the people by acting as gangsters. The police spend a lot of time trying to justify their salaries and exaggerating threats to the nation to keep that money train coming.

They killed Ian Tomlinson. They also kill you if your black or muslim because as we all know, if your black, your a criminal and if your a muslim, your a terrorist!

The numbers of defenceless people killed in this country because they have fallen foul of the prejudices of idiot police officers is staggering. The police spend lots of money keeping each other out of trouble. They investigate themselves. They enforce a rotten political system in a rotten political way. A lot of them are bent or corrupt. Just like their masters.

If you disagree with something in this country and the political order don't like what your saying, expect the police to show up. And expect them to be expecting you to be violent.

We are not free in the UK. The police have been told to decide against it.

For those police officers hiding behind their PC's posting here at Indymedia, and lets face it, you've always been here - haven't you? I can say only one thing.

It isn't you we blame. Its your masters. Like bad parents, they have steered you wrong.

TLDR

TLDR (too long didn't read)

TLDR

And I third it!

25.08.2009 18:11

At least the writer's thought about these issues rather than just be in denial, like some commenters here.

thirder

point?

25.08.2009 19:14

Right, most of what you have asked have nothing to do with the police and have a lot to do with your perceptions of the police.

You have, on several occasions, confused Police with social services. I can say for a fact that their treament of rape victims is very good and dealing with profesional sex workers they are very open and helpfull.

The IPCCA is a private body not connected with the police in any way, it contains no serving police officers and this is open to verification.

finally, as the police are a hiraracal body they would be blocked from answering here.

Seconder,thirder...?

"Right, most of what you have asked have nothing to do with the police and have a lot to do with your perceptions of the police."

Our percepions are built on fact, not fear.

"You have, on several occasions, confused Police with social services. I can say for a fact that their treament of rape victims is very good and dealing with profesional sex workers they are very open and helpfull."

I'm sure they do. And the reap the rewards no doubt in intelligance, information and the rest. Lets leave rape out of this.

"The IPCCA is a private body not connected with the police in any way, it contains no serving police officers and this is open to verification."

No serving police officers. That would be to obvious to the public. Now, lets try something else...former serving police officers. Will that do?

"finally, as the police are a hiraracal body they would be blocked from answering here."

But not from home, and not from their own mobile phones.

And just as an aside. Why are you justifying the police. Can't you see that to justify is to excuse, and to excuse is to encourge.

NOT DEMOS!
