Not many people on IM have access to an M16 or would even know how to clean a Kalash. It's a different struggle in the UK.

Its a shame that you think this person needs help. Its about time we all woke to the impending disaster. Since September 11 we`ve lost something.
Its true that I have no idea how to clean a weapon other than an Enfield 303 that I used in army cadets. This is however for us, more of a call to rise again as opposed a call to arms.
Also . . . it costs about £50 to go clay shooting if ya want to learn how too shoot. Thanks to army cadets I know how to shoot a variety of weapons, most of them obsolete now but I CAN SHOOT.
We should be attempting to get our army on side, which by the look of it, won`t be hard. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

When I was a kid I used to go to a rifle range next to the Playhouse theatre in Edinburgh, and I wasn't a great shot with a single shot .22 but like being able to cook, code, first-aid, and write poetry it is a skill I am glad that I tried to learn.

I was in Coulport last week and I asked my guard what is that, pointing to his gun. Barrel, extra optics. "MP7", he said, his eyes darting about the room. I haven't watched 'Lie to Me' but inuitively he seemed to be avoiding seeming to be too proud of his gun. He added in a self-satisfied grunt "Personal protection". I flashed a condom out of my pocket to mimic "Yeah me too. Personal Protection".

Nothing wrong with learning how to shoot a weapon, it is only dubious when you insist on keeping one at home. I fell out with an ex-lover, an american revolutionary communist, after she insisted on keeping a hand gun even after she'd become a black-belt. I am a relatively good-shot but in peace-time you don't want people like me armed.

I've been trying for over five years to get more soldiers on our side or at least find common cause, even orgainsing joint actions. Just because I personally have mostly been unsuccessful doesn't mean it is a bad strategy so good luck to you.
