Hunger striker for 44 days and counting!

UNCONDITIONAL IMMEDIATE RELEASE OF HUNGER STRIKER THODORIS ILIOPOULOS

“Those who lived the December events, those who experienced the mechanisms’ violence, those lived the hardness of the cell, with or without sentence, those who know that the only way to freedom is through resistance, those who react against the court injustice and its horror, they are the ones who understand me and will support me.”

Thodoris Iliopoulos is one of the thousands of people who went out to the streets in December struggling for a world of freedom and social justice. From 22 December he is detained without trial in Korydalos prison based on fabricated charges, which he denies. All his applications for release have been rejected with the etiology that he is “dangerous for democracy”.

Opposite the revengeful mania of the state mechanisms against every struggling human, Thodoris Iliopoulos resists from 10 July with a hunger strike demanding nothing less that his freedom. Today he wents through his 43rd day of hunger strike, having lost 20% of his weight and with his life being hanged from a thin thread while yesterday he was transferred to Attican hospital and back to prison even though the medics had recommended against [his transfer back to prison].

In the last months the state and the bosses are trying to take the revans from society for the eruption of December. Between an orgy of scandals, corruption and [stealing?] of public wealth, freedoms are repressed, rights are abolished, the free-for-all exploitation of workers and the [forced exodus] of migrants are [becoming usual] and social inequalities are widening. Those who choose the way of dignity and resistance, are labelled “dangerous for democracy”. In the face of Thodoris all of us are punished. We shall get them immediately from their hands. Immediate and unconditional release of fighter hunger striker Thodoris Iliopoulos.

On Monday 24 August and time 8pm at Propylea we call [for participation to] the [music] concert organized by the Initiative of Solidarity to Thodoris Iliopoulos.

Its amazing how right wing politicians in Greece call anarchists a threat to democracy whilst supporting fascist groups.
The Greeks should be proud they are the birth place western democracy, real democracy is directly linked to anarchism, peoples rule, the words are very linked. Sensible referendums, delegation without corruption works & its the only thing that can stop the current state we live in from destroying the world whilst blaming it on people.
Greek comrades should be calm & discpined, anarchism needs to be known for democracy
