The Truth about Ecstasy
Chiara Locatelli | 19.08.2009 20:10
“It’s not worth the momentary high, it just sucks the life out of you, it sucks the happiness out of you” these are the words of an Ecstasy user, a “designer drug” that became popular in clubs and rave parties.
Known as Cadillac, Adam, California Sunrise, Clarity, E, Elephants, Eve, Hug Drug, Love pill, Lover’s speed, X, Snowball, XE and XTC and other names, Ecstasy is a synthetic, man made, mind altering drug.
It usually comes in pill, tablet or capsule form, which are sometimes marked with cartoon-like images. Taking Ecstasy with alcohol is extremely dangerous and can be lethal.
Ecstasy is a laboratory man made drug, and every possibly imaginable chemical and toxic substances out there are put together to create this pill.
The same chemical and toxic substances that we try so hard everyday to avoid in our food and in our homes.
Unfortunately Ecstasy has been highly promoted, but not many people know the real side effects of this drug. It’s not at parties anymore, it’s in our homes. Kids are taking it, teenagers are taking it, adults are taking it.
When people start taking Ecstasy, they usually think that it’s just a pill, they just want to try it, and how bad can it be? One small little pill, how bad can it be?
The truth is that Ecstasy is illegal and highly addictive.
Ecstasy’s users quickly realize that the alleged “happiness” promised, quickly fades away once the real side effects kick in.
Some short-term effects are: impaired judgment, confusion, depression, sleep problems, severe nervousness, paranoia, muscle tension, involuntary teeth clenching, vomiting, blurred vision, chills or sweating.
A few long-term effects are long-lasting brain damage affecting thought and memory,
depression, anxiety, memory loss and kidney failure.
Ecstasy’s strength lies in the lack of information that people really need in order to say no to this drug.

And for the person with a drug problem, there are also real solutions to addiction. Narconon, a drug rehabilitation program that utilizes the methods of L. Ron Hubbard, has a success rate of more than 75%. www.narconon.org
The best solution, however, is not to begin using drugs in the first place.

I've taken ecstasy and found it quite pleasant

I think I had it with alcohol too, and that didn't seem to be a problem.
I would thoroughly recommend it to people just for the experience, as long as you dont overdo it - I've seen people take too much and turn into gibbering wrecks. But it's not physically addictive, so unless you have a personally that is prone to psychological addition, you should be fine.
Oh, and of course choose your dealer carefully in case you get sold something that isn't really MDMA.

pills

I knew a lot of people who'd do it every weekend to a level of excess. They ended up not going out unless they had some pills and basically turned into a bunch of self-centered wankers. So, yes, if you do it regulary it seems you genuinely lose interest in everything and everyone outside of taking pills and the idea of going out just to socialise is no longer an option. People mostly do slide into this once they start doing it every weekend

ecstasy is ilegal.... no shit you idiot. But illegality is not a strong enough reason in itself.
