The News Cast

The Israeli military kidnapped on Tuesday 15 Palestinian civilians during pre dawn raids targeting a number of west Bank communities.

The Israeli attacks were reported in the southern city of Hebron, Ramallah city, central West Bank in addition to Qalqilia and Tulkarem cities both located in northern West Bank.

Palestinian sources announced that nine men were taken form Hebron, four from Qalqilia, while one from Ramallah and another from Tulkarem.

The Israeli military radio said that the men were taken to military detention camps for questioning.

Elsewhere the Israeli military issued on Tuesday a military order to confiscate 28 Acres of farm lands near Ya'abd village in northern west Bank.

Waled Abadi, the Mayer of Ya'abd, tolled IEMMC that the order was delivered to him today by the military. He added that all the land is owned by farmers from the village and located close to the neighboring Shakid Israeli settlement.

Abadi said that the military order says that the land will be used for security purposes but the order is not clear whether the land will eventually be used by the military or settlers.

In other news the Egyptian military uncovered on Tuesday five tunnels along its borders with the Gaza Strip.

The military said that the tunnels were discovered during a series of searches on the Egyptian side of the borders. It added that the tunnels were empty of goods and people.

According to the Egyptian military report the tunnels will be destroyed in the coming few days.

The tunnels at the borders with Egypt became the source of much needed medical and food supplies to the 1.5 million Palestinian living in the Gaza Strip after Israel started its siege on the territory in June 2007.
