Correlation Between Abuse of Women and Abuse of Animals

Sisters' Keepers | 10.08.2009 14:23 | Animal Liberation | Education | Gender

In Australia, Japan, Spain and elsewhere, oppression of women
is correlated to violence toward animals

It is men who torture bulls in rings in blood sports reminiscent
of ancient gladiator contests.
It is men who are the vast majority of hunters and fishermen.
Men are the sealclubbers.

We are to be our sisters' keepers as well as our brothers'.
We are to be our animal sisters' keepers as well.

Men are the sealclubbers, matadors, slaughterhouse workers
Men are the sealclubbers, matadors, slaughterhouse workers

Among 12 surveyed countries Australians make
the worst husbands. NPR reported that Japanese
are the 2nd worst.

There is a correlation between the macho cowboys
of Australia with their killing of billions of cows sheep
and kangaroos... and the macho husband. In Japan
a correlation exists between contempt for the rights of women
and the rights of whales.

There have been virtually no Latino country leaders.
The macho culture of Latino countries is expressed
in bullfights in which male matadors delight the crowd
with brutal bull murders.

Animal Women

Constantina Salamone, founder of World Women For
Animal Rights:
In the dairy industry, all the captive animals
are women.

Many women who organize against rape think
nothing of stealing the milk and eggs of women
animals.

Norwegian law requires that 40% of all corporate boards
be women.

One advocate of this practice has said
1. women are more likely to ask unorthodox questions
2. women are more likely to admit when they are wrong
3. women have less testosterone or competitive
noncooperation

May the women end quickly the murder of whales
and seals by Norwegian fishermen.

Socialist countries led the way in women's rights www.guide2womenleaders.com

It was not until during and just after the World War I that the first few women became members of the revolutionary governments in Ukraine, Russia, Hungary and Ireland. Nina Bang, Danish Minister of Education 1924-26, was the first woman to be minister in democratically elected parliamentary government.

First female Prime Minister and President
In 1960 Sirivamo Bandaranaike of Sri Lanka became the world's first female elected Premier Minister. Indira Gandhi in 1966 became the
first Prime Minister of India. In 1974 Isabel Perón of Argentina became the first woman President -
. 1999 Sweden became the first country to have more female ministers than male. 11 women and 9 men and in 2007 the Finish government had 60% women.

It's called waged labour, init! I'm sure they'd rather be sitting on the banks of a cool mountain stream with a beer or soft drink in their hands but that thing called survival gets in the way. How many people do (apart from matadors) have much choice about how to survive?

There are female matadors too by the way.

good women bad women

women are human beings same as men some good some bad most a mixture - capitalist anarchist socialist fascist liberal cant be arsed- whatever...

there is something very worrying about the idea that angela merkel, margaret thatcher, and hilary clinton all give a false impression of women- no! they are women too and women can do stupid bad things as well as good and given the opportunity to hold power they will be distorted and corrupted and seek and use it in similar ways to men

Sorry world, I was only doing my job.....

Here we go again, '' there are female matadors as well.'' Come on, try a bit harder, its 2009. Surley you can get the point been made, we (as men) do virtually all the killing, torturing and abusing. It's a Mans World and look at the fuckin' mess. After we've done our heroics, what comes next?, just a load of belly aching about not having a job or loads of sobbing that the people we attacked fought back and blew our legs off. When the job involves exploiting and injuring in whatever form, what about a bit more of '' Im not doing that, I'd sooner share or do without.'' By the way, when your sat by the stream appreciating natures beauty, maybe you might think about adding to it by activating your lazy imagination rather than 'clubbing' it to death then buying a beer to quell your troubled mind. Forgive me if that medicine is a bit bitter, but the system is a nasty poison. Good luck.

Was this posting a joke? I can't believe you're even arguing about it!

Well....

The idea of seperating genders into two camps of good and bad seems a bit oversimplistic. Yeah, most of the suffering in this world is caused by people with dicks. But not all of it. You don't need a dick to be a dick. Some of the worst crimes committed against animals and humans alike have been by women attempting to impersonate the 'man' (not male) characteristics of power and dominance.
How about instead of drawing lines between us we jointly confront the power structures that make people the way they are?
Surely thats what feminism is about, not the dominance of women but rather the equal cooperation in destroying the power structures that oppress all of us.

Worldwide women are enslaved

11.08.2009 08:53

Whilst in the countries mentioned we are fortunate in that women are no longer chattels i.e the actually property of men a husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin actually owning by legal definition us we have to bear in mind that this legal definition was only dropped in 1967 in the UK. We still have a very long way to go.

In other nations women are still the actual property of men as much as a car is and there is widespread gender apartheid. Millions and millions of women have no choice in their lives whatsoever even to go to the shops, to eat, to speak requires permission. Girl children have been publicly hung for "leading on" their rapists. Millions still die in childbirth. Many men are also suppressed by this dogma, many also fight for the liberation of women but many would appear to enjoy being treated as deities in their own home having been brought up to believe that women exist simply to serve men.

Men are oppressed and enslaved as well of course and women are quite capable of abuse and cruelty but patriarchy the systematic dehumanisation of women is alive and kicking and incorporated into the laws of many countries. Get rid of this sick farce, allow women to control our own fertility and destiny and watch the human population plummet and associated problems will be partially solved. In the end a person should be seen as an individual, who cares what sex someone is it is irrelevant in most interactions we have with one another.

The good news

11.08.2009 12:20

According to the survey, the top three countries where the nicest blokes are for husbands are the Netherlands, Sweden and - get this - Great Britain.

So by the logic of the original posting's "correlation", GB has some of the least problems with animal abuse in the world too.

Hurray!

Someone should tell SHAC and the other AR mobs that. They can put their feet up now.

'' yes you can Orville,aah ''

11.08.2009 13:37

Try looking a little deeper, you'll realise that treating women as equals would only benefit all. This country is called a patriarchy for a very good reason, coz it's true. You seriously can't be suggesting it don't exist?
When I mention organ grinders and monkeys, you picture a male organ grinder, don't you, think about it. Change yourself, and remember Orville 'you can.'

@KH

11.08.2009 16:27

Er - KH - I'm not denying that Britain is a partiarchy, or supporting that. I'm just pointing out what the research - that started off this whole discussion - actually said about GB. The posting claimed that countries where women were badly treated were ones where animals were badly treated as well, and that a "correlation" existed. Whoever posted it hadn't noticed that the survey said British men were some of the best in the world as husbands. By that logic, everyone here is lovely to animals too.

This is clearly bunkum. You try reading more closely next time, KH.

I apologise Orville, I misread your words and thought you were having a pop at AR and got a bit sensitive, sorry!
