His interest rates were up to 2,437%. He was jailed for five years.

stupid people

Unfortunately you get a load of stupid people who irresponsibly borrow the money and sign the forms, buy a big television that hardly fits through their council house front door and then moan that the interest rates are too high AFTER they have borrowed the money. Then they usually watch the news (on their big TV) and complain about fat bankers and the government at which point they stop making payments (because it is their god given right to have a big TV).

Here is a suggestion.....
why not: don't borrow the money if you don't like the interest rates

Heres another one:
If you cant make the payments, then sell the big TV (and whatever else you have bought on borrowed money - that you couldn't afford in the first place) and use that money to pay off the debts to a managable level.

Oh look -> rocket science .... no one is forcing you to borrow money (just give up cigarettes and booze and get rid of your sky tv, you'll soon save up enough)
