Hillary Clinton is a fascist

Danny | 25.07.2009 11:33 | Anti-militarism | Other Press | Repression

The British mainstream news coverage of Honduras has been non-existent. The CNN coverage has been biased, covering up facts that are well known in the rest of the americas and employing right-wing commentators like Robert Armstrong and the Council of Americas ( a US business organisation) while ignoring ALBA, the OAS and even the UN. Even independent english-language coverage has been poor, inaccurate and lacking.

I've a few minor problems with the NarcoNews summary of yesterdays events in Honduras though it is still worth reading. Al Giordano starts by putting himself into the story when only his mother could be interested in his own situation, poor journalism. Then he gets the name of the town wrong, it is Las Manos not Los Manos. More seriously though, when he criticises Clinton he resorts to calling her an asshole for her hypocracy, but fails to point out the most glaringly hypocritical thing that she said.

Clinton said "President Zelaya's effort to reach the border is reckless. It does not contribute to the broader effort to restore democracy and constitutional order in the Honduras crisis...We urge both parties to accept the proposal put forth by President Arias. It is the basis for a peaceful solution. And that is what the United States supports"

Clintons statement is a whitewash, a rewriting of history that no mainstream reporter has picked up on which therefore makes it incumbent on reporters like Giordano to pick up on. The fact is Arias said Zelaya must return on Friday. Arias was the US backed negotiator, and for the US press to report that his recommendations were rejected by both sides is simply false. Zelaya never rejected them, he followed Arias' instructions. The golpistas (coup leaders) didn't explicitly reject them either, but they did reject them by refusing to pass them to the Honduran Congress until Monday, when the call for Zelayas return would have already been out of date. Maybe the Honduran Congress had more important matters to discuss.

Mediator Seeks Zelaya's Return to Honduras by Friday
By VOA News
23 July 2009
The chief mediator in the Honduras crisis talks is proposing that ousted President Manuel Zelaya return to the Central American nation as its leader by Friday (yesterday).

Hillary Clinton deliberately misrepresented Arias decision, because her friends and supporters helped organise the and support the coup and she personally is doing her best to deter democracy. It is not enough to call her an asshole. Clinton is a gangster, a war-criminal and a fascist who can only be viewed as a golpista.

Death Threats

25.07.2009 12:34

It was blatantly wrong for Giordiano to equate Zelaya to the Honduran and US golpistas as a 'three ring circus'. As the Times points out, the golpistas made veiled but undeniable threats of murder against him, his wife and children and his supporters-

“I am not afraid but I’m not crazy either,” Mr Zelaya said on Telesur, a Venezuelan television network. “There could be violence and I don’t want to be the cause.” ...When he was informed of the attacks on his supporters across the border, Mr Zelaya remained bullish. “Today is a good day to die,” he told The Times, calling for his opponents to “come and look me in the eye”.

Military leaders in Honduras had said that they would not be responsible for the security of Mr Zelaya or his wife and children if he attempted to cross. They suggested that the left-wing leader, who was marched on to an aircraft at gunpoint after an attempt to change the constitution, might be plotting an assassination attempt on himself to plunge the country into crisis.

“We cannot be responsible for the security of people who, to foment general violence in the country, are capable of having their own sympathisers attack them,” the Defence Ministry said.

High Noon for El Presidente

Zelayas wife shows Army bullet holes at her home
Zelayas wife shows Army bullet holes at her home

Zelaya has been criticised for recklessness by the fascist Clinton for risking violence for crossing the border. Zelaya has been mocked for cowardice by the left-wingers for not advancing further. This is the same criticism he faced for his policies in office.

In truth, he is unarmed and powerless, moving slowly towards justice. He claims to be ready to die, but he knows it isn't a matter of his life or death, it is about the others who he has been told will die. Yesterday his wife and children were also threatened by the Nova Contras, Clintons golpistas, who promised army massacres of democrats. So what would you do in his cowboy boots?

It came from the skies
It burst throught the gates
With no mercy or disguise
With their hearts set out in flames
I know I've seen the master plan

Well I'm just a man
I'm not giving in
All the people understand
For they all fell down and prayed
I know I've seen the master plan

They've killed the president

It came from the skies
In all shades of green
We can always justify
We can measure up your dreams
I know I've seen the master plan

They've killed the president

Army about to back down?

26.07.2009 17:35

There is a hopeful report on Bloomberg, the US business news website, that seems to indicate the army are prepared to let Zelaya finish his term in office - presumably after as much of a delay as possible. The Arias solution forbids any retribution against Zelaya or the golpistas until at least six months. The military perhaps realise that if they don't agree this and Zelaya is restored anyway, through civil war or US snactions, then senior officers will be facing prison terms themselves.

Honduran Military Backs Arias Talks to End Crisis

Honduras’s military said it backed “negotiations within the framework” of the so-called San Jose accords, which includes restoring Manuel Zelaya to the presidency.

The military wants to reach a solution to solve the situation the nation is facing after Zelaya was ousted in a June 28 coup, according to a statement posted on the Web site of the armed forces.

The San Jose accords were proposed by Costa Rican President Oscar Arias on July 22 and call for reinstating Zelaya as president, moving up elections and forming a unity cabinet. The 11-point plan would also establish a “Truth Commission” to investigate the events that led up to the military removal of Zelaya.

Zelaya’s return to power made the agreement impossible to sign, according to acting Honduran Foreign Minister Carlos Lopez. Zelaya accused the de facto government of intransigence in the negotiations.

“I urge once again that this agreement be approved as soon as possible,” Arias, a Nobel Peace Prize winner, said in an e- mailed statement from the president’s office today. “The Honduran people can rewrite this episode of their history, transforming a setback into a victory.”
