'100 years on Karl Marx is back and he's got something to say' Historian and activist, Howard Zinn is best known for his alternative portrait of American history, “A People’s History of the United States.” Once again Zinn proves himself a talented playwright, presenting a play that is both enlightening and entertaining and which sheds new light on Marx and his theories. The one man play has been touring successfully in North and South America and Europe for four years. Liverpool Social Centre now welcomes actor Jerry Levy for the latest leg in his UK tour.

Probably most of us have had boring lefties at some time or other delivering the predictable drone about their monopoly on the truth and the redundancy of all other strands of political thought.
It's understandable you might have some doubts about whether this is a going to be a good night out.
Well, forget all that. This is a genuinely engaging piece which manages to educate, entertain and contextualise the great bogeyman and his locale, family, contemporaries (Bakunin, Engels) in a brilliant performance of Howard Zinn's play.
Don't miss it!
