Animal Rights activists under attack from extremists. Will there be cop unit?

We all know it's happening. It's been happening for years and it is something that many of us have put up with and has been described as "low level intimidation" by the police and even by us. When lesser "crimes" have been committed by Animal Rights activists to save animals it is called "extremism" by the police and the pharmaceutical industry. The ANTI ANIMAL brigade are violent extremists.
What we are asking is what are the police going to do about it? There is specialist unit, part of Special Branch, called NETCU that is designed to catch those "committing crimes" on behalf of animals.
But what of those who are attacking animal lovers on behalf of HLS, the MRC etc? [Whether or not these law abiding scientists know that this is happening is another matter, I am sure that most law abiding scientists would be disgusted by what is being done "in their name" by these extremists. I am sure that if you told the secretary at the NIMR or the MRC that people are doing this "for them" that they would be horrified and would want these people caught. Especially as people from SHAC for example are serving sentences of at least ten years for blackmail by people "acting on their behalf"].
Recently an activist reported to associates that their home has been broken into, this person has been threatened with appalling violent crimes and has been sexually attacked. This is not low level intimidation, it is extremism. Sexual abuse is not "low level intimidation". It is extremism of the most appalling kind. How many other people have had this done to them?
It is also believed that people posing as animal rights activists are committing crimes against people in the science industry etc to frame genuine peaceful campaigners.
Now these extremists have gone even further and have threatened people from the science industry for speaking out against a lab proposed for Camden.
Will there be a "NETCU" to stop these extremists acting "on the behalf of" the pharmaceutical industry?
Remember that activsts have been killed while saving animals...Jill Phipps, Mike Hill and others. This is extreme.
The people behind SHACWatch etc are not just "lame geeks" doing a lame webite, they are dangerous, violent extremists who need stopping. Especially now that they have turned their attentions to scientists and other people, non vegans, residents etc who are against the Camden Lab.
Will there be a dedicated NETCU style team to stop the extremist perverts at SHACWatch and those acting on behalf of SHACWatch etc?
If you have experienced extremism by those "acting on behalf of" the pharmaceutical industry then contact us and tell us what happened. Alternatively you might want to contact the Guardian newspaper or the Camden New Journal.

if someone threatens violence, you have the right to defend yourself.
if someone attempts to sexually abuse you, fuck the law, kill the bastards.
all activists should be prepared to defend themselves. you don't have to be aggressive, nor should you ever hope to hurt anyone. but in todays society, anyone can be a victim, especially so for activists.
take a self defense course (and a good one),
ensure you have plenty of locks on your doors (and that you use them),
other good security tips include,
not opening your door to strangers (talk through a window, or cheap intercom system)
keep something heavy and compact (like a metal torch) near your door. (and know how to use it)
read the activist security manual, or other books that teach counter surveillance.
it may sound paranoid, or like overkill, but prevention is nearly always better than the cure.

"It is also believed that people posing as animal rights activists are committing crimes against people in the science industry etc to frame genuine peaceful campaigners."
Where is the evidence for this? I would argue it is just someone's paranoid conspiracy theory rantings that doesn't belong on Indymedia.

its worrying that people put up stuff like this (if in fact it isn't real).
it discredits when activists are attacked.
and also shows weakness where weakness does not exist, and probably gives the bastards ideas.
I hope that it is a bunch of lies, I really do, and if not i really think people should publish evidence of such "attacks", even just a personal account.
shame on anyone posting mis-info.

There are indeed people who support vivsection committing crimes to frame peaceful activsts.
Rember it is your chums [the police] who claimed that Ian Tomlinson was killed by a "police imposter".
If we are "weak" why do we continue?
